I have improved upon perfection

While Shauna & I were shopping last week while the boys were having 'game night', we saw some clear, glass vases filled with ornaments.  Super simple & super cute.  While we were shopping Friday (yea, we like to shop...) she needed a gift for her mother in law.  I suggested making her one of those vase thingies with ornaments.  While we were at Hobby Lobby we found the vase & the ornaments.  Shauna had seen my silvery, glittery tree & of course she thought it was gorgeous.  She made a comment while we were shopping that she wants to re-do her tree next year in blue & silver.  Huh... a color with silver?  Wha?  What EVER color would I use?!

I was at Meijer yesterday to pick up some stuff to bake for our lunch at work & to get ingredients to make a dish to take to McAfee Christmas next week. (I'm in charge of a vegetable.  Sure, I could open a can of corn, throw it in a dish & take it.  And that is certainly my style.  But I'm stepping up my game & making a 7 layer salad.  I will be a good blogger & take a pic when it's done...even if it sucks...) I had some time to kill so I went to the Christmas stuff.  I still had Shauna's "Color & silver" idea in my head.  I found a package of purple ornaments. 

What is wrong with me?  Why didn't I think of this before?  I hang my head in shame...

I bought that $10 package of purple ornaments.  And I put them on the silvery, glittery masterpiece this morning.

Oh my.  I loved the silvery, glittery masterpiece before...but now... now the silvery, purplely, glittery masterpiece has Jaime Mac written all.over.it...

I have been up & down off the couch all day moving the ornaments around to get it to look just right.  I asked B-rad what he thought of the purple ornaments.  He said, "I think it looks better than it did with just silver."  I love him...

I had bought a package of silver ornaments at Target that I didn't use & intended to take back.  I can't find the dang receipt so I guess I'm stuck with them...  I also have a few purple ones left over. 

Guess what I'm going to do?  I'm going to buy those clear, glass vases & put the remaining purple & silver ornaments in them.  Yea, I'm going crafty.  I'll let ya'll know how that turns out.  I vowed not to leave my house Sunday so going back in town to buy them was out of the question.

I also bought a super cute purple ribbon with silver on the edges & silver shimmery thingies on it. I was going to intertwine it into the ribbon I have now. It only went around the tree one time & the roll was empty. Fail.

Guess I'll just have to go buy some more ribbon when I make it in town to buy the clear, glass vases.  Poor me...
