2nd verse, same as the 1st!

So I made it through day 2 of open house. My feet hurt & I'm tired. It was basically the same as yesterday, but I WAS busier so I didn't have time to lolly-gag around & take pics. I did have some visitors today! My nephews, Cole & Brady. I think TECHNICALLY they were here to see their mom, but oh well!

Now I KNOW this guy came to see me...wait, maybe he's here for the chili extravaganza?!
My brother came w/ his friend but I didn't want them to think I was a dork (anymore than he already does!) My dad was here too & I even saw an old friend from high school. Small world!

I survived Open House, Day 1...

My work has an "open house/customer appreciation days" the last weekend of February EVERY SINGLE SOLITARY YEAR! They serve chili from the Lions Club & Krispy Kreme donuts & people EAT IT UP! (Literally & figuratively...) I will keep my post politically correct as not to get my bootie in hot water...but here's how it plays out: 10:30 AM - People are beginning to filter in steadily. The parts counter has a good flow of business...

11:15 AM - The lawn mower shop is where the chili/donut extravaganza is set up. This is the BACK of the line to the chili.

11:16 AM - If you look REAL close @ the pic in the background - that's where all the people congregate to eat chili & socialize. It's ALWAYS packed!

12:30 PM - I took this from the door prize table (the same place as the 1st pic, notice the over abundance of people?!) Oh Yeah! I forgot to tell ya about the door prizes! We give away all kinds of stuff. The biggest thing is a Cub Cadet Lawn mower. Yeah-we're not foolin' around! Anywho, ALL the people come in & sign up for the various door prizes. My favorite things to hear are: #1-I wanna win that Cub Cadet. #2-What am I signing up to win? (side note-ALL the prizes are set out AND on a list on the freakin' table!) #3-Can I sign up my 2 month old baby? {I exaggerate a little...but people do ask if they can sign up their small childern. Sure, they'll fit into that Case IH XL sweatshirt nicely!} Needless to say, besides the chili extravaganza, this is the 2nd most popular place for people to be.
One down, one to go...pray for me. Tomorrow will be A LOT worse!!! And my feet will be hurting & I'll be tired...

I'm reaching, I know...

I went to the grocery last night. I hate the grocery! I go in to New Albany to Kroger. Now, you may ask why I do this when there's a Wal-Mart 20 minutes away? I HATE Wal-mart. Loathe it. CanNOT stand it! I used to go there & it just got too ridiculous w/ the long wait in lines when there's only 3 registers open & they have like 30. So now I trek my happy butt to New Albany. I go to Target to get toiletries & stuff like that & then I head across the street to Kroger. Normally they're pretty good about not making me wait in line. However, last night, this is what I had to deal w/.

So I picked the lesser of all the evils. I was waiting patiently (hmph!) 3 deep in line playing w/ my Blackberry (I LOVE that thing! & it takes good pics, no?!) when I heard a voice, "Ma'am, I can help you right here!" Aaahhh, I heard angels singing & a bright white light! YES! I was movin' on up.
Then, the really bad news. My total. Now, I would like you to notice the items on the screen. Kroger brand. Hey, there's no shame in my game. I buy Kroger brand. I admit it. But I must say, there are some things that just aren't the same. And the even better news is I had coupons & lots of 'em. $26 in total! Yeah for me! Kroger does this cool thing where they send you coupons based on what you buy. Which is great because I don't clip coupons for stuff I don't buy. Plus, if you're really special, they'll also include a "$16 off if you spend $160 in one transaction" & had one of those last night!

Here they are in all their glory in the back of my car. Doesn't seem like $200, but what-eva!

Oldies but goodies

I know these pictures are like "SO" 4 years ago, but let's be honest, I love my new little blog & I am bored @ work & thought I'd share w/ my peeps! Our trip to Vegas was the farthest west I'd ever been (besides Evansville... :-)
Madame Tussauds wax museum! They had a hallway w/ wedding music playing & pics of famous people that had gotten married in Vegas. You walk into a room that looks like a chapel & there stands George Clooney! I was giddy! Normally I'm somewhat of a germ-a-phob, but I snatched that veil off the wall & slapped it on my head & ran right up there!
This place was SO up Brad's alley!

He could touch boobs & not get in trouble!

& butts! I love his face! There was a sign beside J-Lo (that's right, I'm hip!) that said if you touch her butt, her cheeks turn red. Yeah, hers & BRAD'S!

Hoover Dam...SO cool!

It was only like 113 degrees that day we were there. They were in a drought & that was gonna be a record!

Grand Canyon!

Bellagio Casino & Hotel. This was my favorite that we walked through (& we walked through a bunch of them) Those are fountains. You can see the water shaped into an arch. It was really neat. Of course, Brad was worried about trying to figure out how they worked w/out the water falling. He came up w/ air thingies in the water that shot it out.

Coca Cola store.

Bellagio fountains. Ok, there's a neat story behind this. Well, maybe I'm the only one who thinks it's neat...too bad for you! We all had a few things that we wanted to do FOR SURE while we were there. One of my things was these damn fountains. I wanted to watch them SO bad. They only go off in like hour increments or something like that. We were there for 1 week & we never could make it there @ the right time. We had too much other stuff to see & we were always going going going. Well, I put my foot down the final night & told the group that if we didn't watch those damn fountains, heads were gonna roll ( & I'm not kidding, I DID tell them that!) So, we made plans SPECIAL to watch them. We were hurrying to the hotel & I hear this beautiful italian music playing (it was some famous song, but I don't know the name) through a gazillion speakers & the fountains started & I started flipping out. So Carrie calmed me down & said, it's ok, we'll wait for the next time they go off. So we did, we sat & sat, but @ least we were front row, baby! Then, all of a sudden, the music started...it was FAITH HILL! Now, the reason this is mega exciting is because I LOVE FAITH HILL! So I jumped up & starting singing w/ Faith to "This Kiss" @ the top of my lungs & we watched those damn fountains & I kept screaming, "It was meant to be! It was meant to be!" I'm a dork, I know!

This is my all time fav pic of me & Brad. (Grand Canyon, duh!)

My newest TV obsession!

I'm obsessed w/ TV... Much like my unhealthy fascination w/ purses, I can't get enough TV. Cable TV, Local TV, you name it, I watch it. Lately I've found that I can't get enough of "17 Kids & Counting", which has NOW been replaced w/ "18 Kids & Counting" because these nut job parents just had their 18th child! Call me crazy, but haven't they heard Eight Is Enough? (If anyone gets my reference here, you get a gold star!)

Anywho, so the whole family is ultra conservative & I mean ULTRA. I watched a repeat where the oldest son, Josh, who is like 20, proposed to his girlfriend. They've been COURTING...that's right I said courting & haven't even KISSED! They are saving that for the wedding day to make it special. While I think waiting to have sex until you're married is a wise decision...kissing? Really?! When he asked her to marry him they just hugged & said I Love you about a gazillion times. It is kinda sweet though because they ALWAYS hold hands & make goo-goo eyes @ each other. They showed them going out to eat after they got engaged & they were trying to eat w/ one hand because they were holding hands w/ the other!

The other thing I love about it is that they make NO apologies. They have their views & they are not ashamed about it! I think that's a very had thing to do in this day & age w/ all the peer pressure, etc. I mean, geez, they have 18 kids (& yes, she gave birth to every last one of them!) & you can just tell by the way they talk about them & their interactions that the love EACH & EVERY one of the them just as much as the one before. Which I think would get real old after about #3...just kidding.

All of their names begin w/ "J". IS there a better letter? They named the new baby Jordyn-Grace. It's not bad enough they have 17 freakin' names to remember so they give her 2 names?! Actually, there's another one that has 2 names. Joy Anna & there's a Johannah. Talk about your tongue twisters.

If ya ever have the chance to sit down & watch TLC, check it out...it's very addictive!

And if anyone needs any suggestions on what TV shows I think are worthy of your viewing pleasure, let me know. I'll give ya the low down!

Another line dancin' class

Last night was my 3rd line dancing class. I'm tellin' ya people, I'm gettin' this stuff DOWN! I've even been brave & moved my arms (GASP!). We learned a new dance but I can't ever remember their names. Cowboy something...We are getting so good we didn't even dance the Electric Slide to the song. We danced it to a FAST song. I'm makin' real progress I tell ya. We basically just went over the other dances we learned. I'm really perfecting my Cupid Shuffle. Those skinny chickies in Jamaica better watch out!

Buffalo Trace Park

Nancy & I walk @ the park after work when the temperature is above 40 degrees! It's a really beautiful place & we're lucky to have it so close.

The view from the campground ...

There was still ice on the lake from it being so cold!

Purse update

I'm very excited because all but 1 of the purses/accessories I put on ebay sold! I have really started to like ebay lately. I'm not really a "goodwill" or thrift store kinda person, but you can find new & used stuff on there. The new Vera Bradley I want is on there right now w/ a bid of $9.95! It's like $63 in the stores! I may bid on it...

Another thing...

I hate about the country...we have no "high-speed" internet. Sure I have a laptop w/ a card I pay for through our cell phones for $60/month! But, it's not THAT fast! Uploading pics is a long wait, & ya can't really watch video w/out it freezing a gazillion times! I guess no one thinks those of us in the country know how to use those fancy new machines called computers! Oh no, wait - I forgot - that we don't live around many people!!! Ooopsie!

Also-when it snows, etc., you have to look REAL hard to see a county truck putting salt down or scraping the road. Again, the not many people thing I guess. But ya know, if we CAN'T get to the highways, what the hell good does it do us if they are cleaned off?!

More pics from the car show!

Isn't she cute?!

This was a "Grinch" themed car.

KISS!

1st responders bike

I don't know WHAT he did to get all those beads, but he sure was proud of them!

Derik cleaning up his car!

Carl Casper Auto Show

We went to the Carl Casper Auto Show on Saturday. Our nephew, Derik, has a 1969 Chevelle that he & his dad restored that was in the show. We also met up w/ our friends, Matt & Carrie. It was A LOT of walking & we didn't even look @ everything! Carrie in her next new car, a Toyota Venza!
By far, the most exciting thing for me! This is Kynt & Vyxsin. They are from Louisville & they were on the Amazing Race. I'm TOTALLY obsessed w/ TV & I watched them on the show. They were sitting @ their table w/ NO ONE else around, so I walked up just like I knew them! I said, "Hey guys! I watched you on the Amazing Race!". They came down & took a pic w/ me & they were SO nice! She just talked & talked to me! I feel a little inferior in my grey sweatshirt because they were Fab-u-lous! She really is a pretty girl, I don't know why she puts all that crap on her face & she had a nose ring like a bull...but I'm old, whatever!

Derik's car was featured in the photo booth. Exhibitioners can buy their photos there & they had several different things on the wall to show off, but all I cared about was Derik's!

An El Camino all decked out!
I wanted Brad to take my pic in front of this Lincoln because it was purple. What I didn't know until after was that it's called "The Pantie Dropper". HAHA! I didn't feel the need to drop mine, though...guess it works on some chicks!

This was a motorcycle to tribute First Responders. Isn't it good?!

The ORIGINAL Kit car!

Derik's Chevelle!

We went to eat @ Tumbleweed on the River afterwards.

Then we went to Matt & Carrie's to play aggravation. It's a game they introduced us to last year @ New Year's. It's so freakin' fun! But so...so...aggravating! We play girls against boys (is there anything else?) & we play best 2 out of 3 for keeping score. Us girls were up on them 15 to 6, so we felt bad for them & let them win both games that night!
