A quiet, yet destructive, weekend

B-rad & I headed to the lake this weekend. It was super quiet because it was just us until Saturday night. I worked on some jewelry stuff, took a good, long nap, & worked on reading 'Eclipse'. All my NEW jewelry has come in so I had to print out tags for it. I would just like to take a moment to say a deep, heartfelt THANK YOU to all my loyal stalkers who gave me the opportunity to let you earn free jewelry over the last year. I appreciate it SOOO much & I am SOOOO lucky to have such good friends & family. Tear...
Ahem, ok-enough of the mushy stuff!
Friday night we (& by we I mean B-rad...) had to install a new refridgerator in Stan & Ann's boat. We had to take the old one out & haul it up to the truck & put the new one in. Poor B-rad had to pull the fridge on a dolly up a ramp (which is long & kinda steep) to the parking lot. His arms were burning & I said to him, "C'mon - your sixty year old dad would be doing this by himself!" Yea-we're all about the tough love.
Saturday afternoon, B-rad & I had been out behind the boat swimming. Some other houseboaters were swimming a couple of boats down. I heard someone yell, "SNAKE!" I turned around, saw a snake heading toward them & hauled my ass outta the water! And for those of you who have been told, 'snakes are more scared of you than you are of them' - it's all a big, fat LIE! Those women were screaming & splashing & the men were splashing & that snake kept heading right for them! I was totally fuh-reaking out! This happened right as Brian, Lora & Cole got down to their boat. I told Cole to stay out of the water for a bit. Then Brian says, "Don't you tell Lora!" Uhm, ok? Like I'm not gonna tell her a slithery, slimy, deadly weapon was hanging out where we swim? Don't think so! But I told Brad, "He's probably gonna tell her!" And guess what? He did!
I didn't even take any pics until Sunday when we went out in the ski boat. I was just in major relaxation mode this weekend.
Cole was too cool for school while he was wakeboarding. See him blowing a bubble?! I got a pretty good shot of him crashing.
It's super hard to get good pics of them skiing. They are jumping & moving & the boat is moving so I am moving. I'm just not that good yet...

I managed to get a couple of good ones of Brad jumping.
and crashing!
Next up was Brian's turn to get some air.
Lora wanted to wakeboard so I told Brian to, "pick up her hair clip & put it in your hair...or er, just hold it since you have no hair." He tried to prove to me he had enough hair to hold the clip.
Lora did a good job. I got a really good pic of her crashing...but I won't share it. I know she wouldn't like that!
So I've covered the quiet part...now for the destructive part.... So B-rad's mom has a washer/dryer combo thingie in the houseboat. It's one that goes in a motorhome or whatever. It has a locking mechanism on it so once you start it, you can't unlock the door until it's done... So I wash towels & stuff after we take showers. The towels I washed this morning weren't quite dry yet, so I re-set the dryer to run for about 30 minutes. We were getting ready to leave, so im-patient me decided to jack around with the dryer to get it to stop & to allow the door to unlock. Welllllll, I thought I was successful. So I pulled on the handle of the door. And apparently I don't know my own strength because I broke off the freakin' handle. Yes, that's right...I broke something Ann loves more than her children.
So I had to listen to B-rad yell at me over & over. "You are SO impatient! Why couldn't you just wait until it was done? Why did you have to mess with it? You are SO impatient!" (I heard that about 40 times....) Like I said, we're all about the tough love. We had to run them through another cycle to see if he could open the door when it finally unlocked. I wrote down the model number for it to google it to see if we could find a new door (God Bless the internet...) He was able to get the door open with pliers & we found a sticker inside that had information for parts/service. B-rad took a pic of that & the serial number so we can see if we can find a new door.
On the way home, I had to call his mom & break the bad news to her. I had cried a bit on the way home because B-rad was still being mean to me (sniff, sniff) & then he yelled at me to 'quit crying!' Sigh... And when I called her he told me, "don't cry either, you wuss..." And I didn't. I just told her what I did & that I was reallllly sorry & that we were going to replace the door if we could & if not, we'd buy her another washer/dryer.
I told B-rad that I'm probably not gonna be allowed to do laundry anymore...so he'd have to do it...since he's more patient than me & all...
