Our weekend...in 2 seperate posts...

Labor Day weekend traditionally marks the end of summer.  Hopefully soon the temperatures will start to drop a bit & it won't be as hot as Hades around here.  With that, for us, also marks the start of harvest which will be especially fun this year since we have practically no crop.  Awesome.

 

We did have some plans for the weekend & even the impending doom of Hurricane Isaac didn't cause us to cancel them.  Ya'll know my feelings on the rain... a little water ain't gonna hurt nobody.  Sure it will make your hair frizzy & curly but who cares what I look like?

 

We were going to the lake for 1 day.  ONE day, people.  Less than 24 hours because of B-rad's plans for Sunday.  (more on that in my SECOND post).  And my hubby packed everything but the kitchen sink.  I asked him at one point, 'You DO know we're only going for a day, right?!'

 B-rad decided to pack for the apocalypse weekend of rain.  He wanted to be sure he wouldn't get bored sitting on the houseboat all day Saturday in the rain.  It turned out to be a bee-u-ti-ful day & rained for maybe 2 minutes at the lake. 

 

There were lots of visitors to the lake because B-rad's aunt & uncle, their friends, B-rad's grandma and even Erin & the girls came too.  There were people everywhere!  Because most of us were in one location, B-rad's mom wanted me to take pics.  UHM, none of us were family photo appropriate..it was the LAKE for crying out loud.  Lake = relaxation.

 This is all of us minus Derik & Erin's hubby, Eric.... in our awesome lakeness.... no hair fixin'....no makeup... comfortable (non matching) clothes.  Lovely....

When it was time for B-rad & I to leave Saturday evening,  he gathered up all of his our stuff.  

And just so ya'll know...THIS is all I brought.  A bag & a blanket.   B-rad even had to put some of his stuff in MY bag because he ran out of room.  He's worse than a woman...
