Another weekend I didn't get to stay home

Yesterday, B-rad & Jeremy had a motorcycle race at Putnam race track which is north of here. A lot of the motorcycle gang peeps went up Saturday night & stayed the night to be up bright & early for the race Sunday. We were no exception. Jer, B-rad & I left around 4:30 Saturday afternoon. It takes about 2 hours to get there. We checked in at the hotel, chatted with a few of the gang members & headed off to eat dinner.
The Groves' came up later & Brian had a plan. They had planned to shave the Louisville Sportbike emblem into the back of B-rad's head. But after hanging out in the parking lot chit chatting with everyone, it got too late & we had to go with plan B.
Brian is stupid good at drawing. So he cut out the emblem onto magazine pages. B-rad held it while he took hair paint & sprayed his head.
The yellow diamond was first. Then he laid the arrow over it & sprayed it in black.
They decided to cut all his hair around it.
Then I was drafted to come in & tidy it all up.
The finished product.
Sunday morning we were up reaaaaaly early (5:30am) to get in line at the track to get the best spot. It was 47 chilly degrees.B-rad's nickname is "B Mac". He made stickers for his bike.
I told you Brian was stupid good at drawing. He painted B-rad's track plastics for him. He went with the 'farming' theme. A combine in a field against a bright blue sky.
B-rad also has another non-official nickname. "One Fast Farmer". So he made stickers for that too & put it on the bottom.Jeremy in his ridiculous sunglasses.
Then, tragedy struck. All the bikes have to go through inspection to make sure they are safe, legal, whatever. Well, B-rad's gas tank had sprung a leak.
So they had to scramble to figure out how to fix it or he wasn't going to be able to race.
And bad news travels fast.... more & more people came over.
They finally put some stuff on it to seal the hole. But that stuff had to harden up & it was pretty cold outside. So during the drivers meeting, they propped it up against the fence in the sun.For this track day, B-rad was also a control rider. Control riders go out on the track with the newbie track day riders to help them.
Getting ready to go out with the newbies. He had to drive so slow I was able to get a pic of him up close that wasn't blurry.
Then it was on like Donkey Kong in his class. Shauna took this pic & if you make it big, you can see on the bottom where Brian painted popcorn popping...I didn't want to bore you with 9 zillion pictures of B-rad & Jeremy racing. Jeremy rode quite a bit, but he didn't even finish most of the sessions. He's been training so much that he really hasn't been riding his bike. I find it ironic that the dude can do an Ironman, but he becomes a sissy on the motorcycle...
When they are out on the track, they have lap timers that tell them how fast they went around. It's suppose to be about your own personal time, but we all know how men are, so of course they have to compare notes on who had the fastest times.
But during the last session of the day, they actually 'race' against each other (but the track people don't know they are racing...). And they have little cheesy 1st, 2nd & 3rd place trophies. B-rad was in 2nd when the red flag got thrown. Somebody crashed (nobody we know) & they had to come back to the start. They were hoping to get to go out for a couple of more laps. Alas, they wouldn't let them go again & B-rad ended up with the 2nd place trophy.
And that trophy somehow miraculously ended up in my entertainment center. Pssssh, that's gonna have to disappear soon...

Are those sunglasses for real that Jeremy wears?!?!? They look kind of feminine ;)

Dearest Ginmommy-
How did I know that out of everything I said, you would fixate on Jeremy's sunglasses? Weird... ;)
Uhm, he wore those on track day-but I don't think those are his "real" sunglasses. He's a bit of an attention whore if you haven't noticed! :)
