A purse + purple = L-O-V-E

I've talked before about my obsession/sickness for purses. I get a new one every 3-6 months. Don't ask me why. I just all of a sudden get an idea in my head, "Gee, I'd like to have a new purse..." Then it becomes my main reason for living - to find a new purse...

Last time I got a new one, Carrie & I were shopping. She doesn't have the same obsession as me - but she was going to get a purse that day. Well, uhm - I can't have her getting a new purse & me not get one too. So I found a purse I liked. It was black & gray. How fun huh?! Then she found a purse she liked. And it was purple... And I almost died right there in JC Penney's. It was SO freakin' cute & as luck would have it - it was the last one there. I tried to distract her & take it from her - but she knows me too well - she was ready for my tricks. So everytime we are together I drool over her purse & talk about how she stole it from out under my nose.

I have loved the color purple since I was 12 years old. Not the book, not the Oprah Winfrey movie - just the color. And everything in my life revolves around that color. I gravitate to it when I buy just about anything. If I could've bought a purple freakin' couch - I would've...

I wanted a purple laptop when our other one got stolen. But B-rad & I got in a SUPER huge fight over it. When the house got broken into - for the 2nd time- our laptop was stolen. If you've ever had to deal with insurance - you know they don't get in a big rush to do anything. And besides - it wasn't like our house burned down & we had no food or clothes - it was just a freakin' computer. It had been about 2 weeks & we still had no computer. I am a girl of the technological age & having no access to the internet is just like not being able to breathe. So I have a connection at the insurance agent's office & I called to beg & plead & cry that I needed a computer like right now. So my connection told me, "ok - I understand - go buy a computer & keep the receipt & we will reimburse you!" Music to my ears... (Thanks, Daniel!) So off to Best Buy we went. They told me they came in purple now & I was sold! But they had to order it. Ok - so order it, hello?! Then B-rad got pissed at me. And while he was right - at the time I just wanted a stupid purple computer. He told me, "Jaime - you called Daniel & caused him all that trouble of finding out what to do & you have been freaking out because you haven't had a computer. And now we could have one tonight & you want to wait so you can get a purple one?!" Hmph, what-ever. We have a blue computer...

Ok - now on to the main event. My purse I bought with Carrie a few months ago was pretty large. I like that because I can throw anything I want in it & it will fit. I don't like it because it's large & I can throw anything I want in it. It was KILLING my shoulder. So a few weeks ago, I planted that little crazy seed in my head that I needed a new purse. Yes, I said needed. We can't have my shoulder hurting can we?! Plus - I can't have Carrie having a purple purse & I don't!

So I had a show in Jeffersonville yesterday & I had some other errands to do in town. (Hello? - I have to do everything in one trip when I make the trek to town...) So I went to JC Penney's to look for purses (I had already looked at Target & Kohl's over the last few weeks.) And I was on a mission. I was gonna find a purple purse. And Lordy be, I did!

And it was the ONLY purple one in this style. And I snatched that bad boy up so fast it would've made your head spin.
And I'm very particular about my purses. It is a very involved decision for me. I HAVE to be able to throw it over my shoulder & go. None of this holding it in my hand or on my elbow crap.

And of course, the sickness overflows into wallets, too. I mean - I can't have a super cute purple purse with a plain, black wallet can I? I couldn't find anything at Penney's. I even looked at Sears & Target. But on my way home from the show, I stopped at Kohl's (with my 20% off card!) & I found this cute wallet.

It doesn't match exactly, but I like the colors in it & an entire purple wallet would be too much. ( I do have SOME restraint...)

And it would be wrong of me to say that I hope all of your are jealous of my purple purse. But that's exactly what I'm saying... be jealous, very jealous...
