So I was lovingly reminded on Twitter that its been almost a month (!) since I posted. Shame on me. Life is crazy right now here at the McAfee compound (I'm sure it's crazy for everyone this time of year!) & I've been super crazy at work so the last thing I wanna do when I get home is sit in front of my Mac! And because I do love me a good shaming I decided to get off my butt & give you guys something. Because something is always better than nothing...
I have this dumb thing addiction in my dna that I no matter how much I love a handbag I've purchased I want a new one every 6 months or so. It becomes especially prevalent when the seasons change. I had a grey bag this winter (which I loved) but now it's getting all warm & sunny out & I wanted a warm, sunny weather bag. (Yes I know I'm a wack job.) One day I went to Dillards to get my super cool "fragrance free" facial products at Clinique & I made the mistake of walking through the handbags. Ya'll - you would've thought I was training for a really fast walking race because I hauled ass through there. I wanted to see them (because I'm addicted) but I didn't want to go so slow that one would start speaking to me. Once the bag starts speaking it's all over....
I was so proud of myself because I walked out of there w/ no bag.... but guess what I couldn't get off my mind? A NEW BAG. I pulled one of my last year Dooney's out & attempted to carry it to crave the need of having a new bag. But I wasn't having it. My dna said, 'you know this isn't NEW. You carried this last year & there are reasons you don't like it so you can justify buying a new one..." SIGH.
So I've have been itching to get a Michael Kors bag for-ever. They're like the 'IN' bag right now, but alas he's really proud of his fancy pants bags & they're expensive... (Not that I haven't dropped major cash on bags before but I didn't FEEL like it this time.) So - to make myself feel better about the whole thing I drove my happy ass to the outlet mall in Simpsonville a few weekends ago & after an hour in the store holding different bags & having all the young gals in there ask me, "are you still doing ok?' 25,000 times I decided on this beauty. It was 25% off which isn't GREAT, but 25% is 25%, people.

Our nephew, Brady, had his senior prom last Saturday. I had asked Brady where & when they were taking pictures. He said, 'the park at 3:00'. I said, "3:00 Jaime time or 3:00 Brady time?" (He was sooooo late last year) And like a true gentlemen he said, 'it all depends on whether Sarah is ready or not! I'll be ready.' UH-HUH.
Guess who was there at 3:00 & who was NOT there at 3:00?
As Brady's favorite aunt it is my DUTY to be obnoxious & re-arrange his friends when they're standing in a formation that makes his girlfriend have to squint her eyes in every picture because of the son. YES, I DID take pics of these important events in his life. Oh-you didn't know I was his favorite aunt? He doesn't really know it either but I AM.
I love to shame make fun of you guys when you talk about where time has gone w/ your kids...
But I do understand where you're coming from when you whine talk about your kiddos growing up
(well-as best as I can w/ out having actually birthed the spawn...).
I was there when Brady was born & now he's 18, graduating in May & going off to college. He's a really good boy...ok, OKAY he's a young man (what.ever) & we are very proud of him.
When we went to his school functions when he was young I would see people B-rad & I went to school w/ who were there w/ there kids the same age as Brady & I would tell B-rad, "What are THEY doing here? We're not old enough to have a kid this age."
UHM, yea we are...
OK- so I guess it's really more about me than him - I am NOT that old yet...
The other McAfee's had a Frozen birthday party for Miss Nora on Saturday & I headed there after being obnoxious picture taking, people re-arragning aunt. The cake was crazy cute!
The kids were all UBER excited so they were more loud than normal. It was a nice day outside so thankfully they were able to play outside a lot in the bouncy house. But when we starting singing 'Happy Birthday' the boys really stepped up their game. As I stood there thinking 'OH MY GOD THEY'RE SO LOUD' - it hit me to video it. Behold - for your viewing pleasure...
(Watch poor little Nora - she's sitting there so sweet & good...I hope those loud boys don't ruin her for life...)
Nora wore a pretty Frozen dress & a tiara.
I was so excited about the gift I got her...
because it was a purse! I mean COME ON - it fit the theme & it's a PURSE. How do you do better than that?!
Alicia was sweet to send me a pic the next morning of Nora taking her purse to church. A digital 'THANK YOU' card, if you will...
I know you guys are mesmerized by all the creations I come up with my nails. I tell ya - it IS hard work combing through Pinterest. I found this design there - navy w/ silver sparkles.
I would promise to make it not so long until the next time I post, but we all know that just may not be true so I won't bother lying to you...
