'What are YOU doing here?'

Saturday morning Shauna's daughter, Ally, had a dance competition.   It was at Floyd Central so I decided to go to watch her perform.  Since it was so close to home, I ran into some people I know.  Three to be exact.  And when I said hello to all three people, their response to me was, "What are YOU doing here?!?"  To which I responded, "My friend Shauna's daughter dances at Planet & she performed this morning."  

Listen - I get it... I am the first one to admit that I belong no where near a place where lots of small children run rampant.  HOWEVER, I always make exceptions when there will be kids there that I actually like.  I wasn't offended or mad that they all asked me.  I actually found it quite funny...

If anyone watches Grey's Anatomy - in last weeks episode-Meredith has a Halloween party (for kids) & didn't invite her bff Christina (because Christina is a lot like me when it comes to kids...).  When Christina finds out about the party & the non-invite her feelings were hurt (duh) & she says to Meredith, "you didn't invite me because I hate children.  But I love YOUR children."  Oh, that's soooo me.  I love my friends kids & the kids I'm related to & try to support them as much as I can.  I get it - me at any kid function looks a bit peculiar but it's still nice to be included.  :)  Trust me - I'm honest enough to say, 'Yea, that doesn't sound like one teeny tiny bit of fun' or 'Yea, I may want to kill myself by the time that night is over'... and my friends understand!

ANYWAY...back to the dancing frenzy!

YES I'm wearing bracelets even though I'm allergic.  Sometimes I just wanna be blingy even though I'm allergic.  And YES, I paid for this...the middle snake skin looking bracelet is metal (the other are plastic beads) & I have a red, itchy bump to show for my allergicness weakness...

Can anyone tell me what doesn't belong?  That God awful lime green wrist band they made us wear.  HMPH.

One of the really fun things about these competitions is all the music.  They play music between performances along with the songs playing when the groups perform.  I love me some music.

 Her group was in the 'youth prep' category if you know anything about dancing.  I do not so I'm learning a whole lot!  None of my people have ever done dancing.

I forced got the dancer herself to take a minute to get a pic with me.  My instructions were to 'not mess up her makeup.'  (I would never!  That's like girl code 101!)  Their makeup is really wild, bright & crazy.  I love it! 

The girls did a great job!  Thanks to Shauna for inviting me to tag along to watch!  So now if you see me out at a dance competition- you know what I'M doing there!
