I was bored this afternoon so I decided to go over to the barn to watch Brad work. (Yeah, that was no typo - I went to watch, not help him work. Really? You think I'm qualified to help?! Tsk, tsk...)
First on the agenda was fixing the auger that goes from the dryer to the leg. Ok-let me explain. When you combine corn, sometimes the moisture in the kernels is high. (When you sell, they dock you if it's too moist, too dry, got too much trash in it, etc. Pretty much any excuse they can use to pay you less, they use it!) So we have a dryer they can put the corn into to dry it down with gas & then the leg takes it from there to either bin 5 or 6 or the new monstrosity. I don't know what we're gonna call that one. Probably either bin 8, or my personal favorite, the monstrosity.
Brad carried his little step ladder with him.
That tall thing is the leg. The 2 things coming off the right & left are the connected to bins 5 (on the left) & 6 (on the right).
Does anybody think this looks safe?!
Please don't report us to OSHA.
Then he had to fix the auger at the top of the new monstrosity.
So silly me thought it'd be a cool idea to get pics from up there. So I walked up the stairs. Slowly - very, VERY slowly.
Told ya I was up there.
At least he had a harness on when he was up there working.
You gotta be kiddin' me! He walks up like it's nothin'!
Yup, that's my hubby!
Brad also wanted me to put pics of the transmission that came out of the mustang. He gave it a bath this afternoon & put it back in the garage.

Jaime, it seems that I learn something new every time I read your blog. I had no idea why you would need SO much storage for the corn. I have never seen a transmission before either. Good reasons to keep looking at your blog, huh?
the dirt bags maybe just couldn't drive worth a damn....i wouldn't give them any credit fore driving it hard (makes them sound like they knew what they were doing)
