Current events

First & most importantly I'm coming to you from the comfort of my couch, covered by the quilt I made & Sonny.  Whilst I watch tv I am also blogging because MY NEW MACBOOK FINALLY CAME!  (I ordered it over a month ago!) I wasn't expecting it until Monday so I was super excited when the shipping guy at work brought it to me Thursday.  And because of the wonder that IS iPhoto all the pics on my phone are on my MacBook & VOILA I'm in heaven w/ backlit keys.   (It is raining & B-rad is home...he said, 'What are you doing over there - typing a book?'  I said, 'No!  I'm blogging!")

2 weeks ago I had my nails done.  There was a really bad wreck down the road from the nail place & a car had hit a pole.  When Tammy was almost done w/ my fill-in the power went out.  We sat around & chit chatted for a bit & we realized that it wasn't going to come back on.  It's not really an option for me to come back another day (it's about an hour for me to get there) so she finished the best she could.  Tony held his phone light so she could see better.
THAT'S Tony & Tammy, people!
Of course we had no fans to dry my nails & I wanted stripes on one of my fingers so that made it tricky because the polish wouldn't dry quickly.
After Tammy painstakingly did the blue & white stripes (we had to move closer to the windows so she could see better) when she put the top coat on it smeared because there was no fan to dry it.  She fixed the stripes & I told her not to worry about the top coat because I would put it on when I got home.  Would you believe that over an hour later the paint was still wet because when I applied to top coat it SMEARED?  I was so pissed.  I love the nails but was reluctant to show anyone because I didn't want it to reflect badly on Tammy & Tony without giving an explanation.  Lucky for you stalkers you get to hear the long explanation... Turns out you can't see the smear very well in this pic after all.  My fingers are red w/ silver glitter on my middle finger & the ring finger is blue & white smeared stripes.    It's my version of 'patriotic' for 4th of July...
(See my MacBook on my lap??)

On Fathers Day B-rad went w/ dad & Butterfly to shoot clay birds.  He figured out its been 7 or 8 years since he shot.  Dad just bought a utility vehicle from my work & B-rad mounted the gun rack in the back for him.  Dad said, 'Jaime-I tell ya - you couldn't have married any better man than that B-rad.'  I replied, "Yea dad - he's a real peach..."  I tease because I love...
(Of course dad is all about B-rad right now since he helped him out.)
Check out dads ridiculous hat...
B-rad was using a (shot)gun that dad gave him a few years ago (you know - because he's not gonna live much longer so he gives stuff away sometimes...) & the gun was a bit too long for B-rad & some recoil thingie on it kept pinching his shoulder.
UHM according to B-rad it DOES hurt as bad as it looked.  Dad kept saying that whole week after when I'd go over for lunch, 'Oh, that poor B-rad.  His shoulder was just awful.'

Last Saturday I had a super busy day.  B-rad had to take me to Butterfly's house by EIGHT AM so he could take me to Rhonda's to get his vehicle to drive.  (Have we forgotten about the itty bitty teeny tiny water accident B-rad had in my car?)  The battery was dead in his car (no one had been driving it).  By the time we went to buy jumper cables & got the car started when I got home it was time for me to blog about B-rad ruining my car, wrap the baby shower gift (for the baby shower I had to leave for in 2 hours) & get a shower & get ready.  B-rad went down to the garage to check the tire pressure & oil in the car & he was down there for-EVER.  I went down to see what he was doing & he was vacuuming it,  cleaning the windows & taking all the stuff that was in it out.  (This car mainly gets used for yucky outdoor stuff like kayaking & camping.  There was a life jacket in it along w/ a towel & other sport related paraphernalia.  When I came in crying about how I had to use a KEY I told him it was kinda dirty inside & there were dog nose prints on the windows.)  I would say he felt sorry for me & didn't want his poor, pitiful wife to have to drive a car in that condition, but I think it's more likely he felt guilty...
And because I'm a big baby he felt sorry for me having to listen to regular radio he borrowed this out of his brothers truck.  It's a tape you put in the cassette player & it has a cord to hook into your phone so your music plays through the car.  I have no idea how it works, I'm just glad it does.
(My boss asked me if I was taking advantage of the fact that B-rad felt bad about my car... I said, "WHO, MEEEE????)

The baby shower was for B-rad's side of the family & Alicia & Nora were there.  Nora knows me of course, but it took her a while to warm up to me.  Once I convinced her it would be fun to sit by me, she immediately was drawn to my nails.  (Alicia is raising her right...)
She didn't care that the blue smeared into the white...
After I showed her how to eat fruit off a stick w/out impaling herself, she then put all her grapes back ON the stick.   Apparently eating off a sharp object that could kill you is exciting!
