A purple painting

So JLL & I had another painting class week before last.  It was "Paris at Night" or "Night in Paris" I can't remember.  Details schmetails.  What's truly important is that the painting had purple in it...and lots of it.

Brian & Shauna had gotten me brushes from Uptown Art for Christmas & like a moron I forgot them for the hydrangea class.  I remembered them for this class & they came in super handy.  The bristles were so nice & the handles didn't have paint all over them.  New & shiny!
I had my paint & wine all ready to go.
The first thing we did was mix us up some real nice purple to paint the whole background.
We added some lighter & darker shades of purple & added the road.
Then we added the Eiffel Tower (in darker purple, of course).  Mine looks a bit more like the Leaning Tower or Pisa.  Whatever...
We added dark purple trees & dark purple leaves.
The we moved on to some pink leaves & pink highlights.
JLL had another friend of hers join us & I want you to pay close attention to these 3 paintings.  What colors do you see?  Purple (duh), pink, dark pink..that's it, right?
It was during this break Jami realized she had yellow on her sleeve.  We have no idea how it got there.  It will forever be a mystery.
We had to mix a LOT of color for this painting.  I've gotten smart over the time I've been going there & I always mix more paint than they tell us because I run out & then when I mix more it's never the same color.  If she says a huge scoop of white, I take a scoop bigger than huge.
The dude sitting across from me was in it to win it.  He had his canvas in his hands & I didn't get the best pic, but he had serious mixing going on over there.
We added the lights in w/ some yellow & orange & the painting was done.
Thanks for a fun night Jami & Sharon.  I love how our purple paintings turned out!
