Today was the day I decided that no matter what - I HAD to get our tax stuff done. Farm tax stuff. Jewelry tax stuff. Personal tax stuff. No, I have done nothing towards organizing anything all year. Yes, I am a procrastinator. Bleh. I did have enough forethought to stop & buy some stuff for a crockpot dinner. I knew I wouldn't wanna stop to make supper (oh, the humanity) so I started dinner around 9 am.
I also needed to make a dish for a Superbowl party we're going to. I really wanted to use my new pan from Christmas. (Remember the 'baked from a box in Jaime's kitchen'?) I had just the yummy boxed dessert - cookie brownie bars. Heaven. I followed the directions to the letter. Afterall, I am an avid detail payer-attention-toer....
I don't know how in the world THIS little detail evaded me until I was searching frantically for the directions for how long to bake it. My 13x9 pan was not listed in that chart... so I read the fine print, "For 13x9 pan, use 2 boxes for best results.' Sigh...
THIS is how it turned out. I mean, really? I can't take this with me. B-rad said, "Don't worry about it-we'll eat that & just make cookies!" (Of which I have 2 rolls of in the fridge...) Oh, how I love him...

I'd eat them. They good good to me. Stinks you can't use your pan now!
The box said to cook them for 50(!) minutes so I did... Uhm that was for 2 mixes, I had 1. They're hard as a brick. I don't know how I'm gonna get them out of the pan! Like the title says... :)
It looks yummy though....I totally would have eaten it.
They look good to me...I love the brownie/cookie idea. Too bad they were hard. :(
Next time I see you, you better have some of those brownie-cookie bars ready to share. You know what you have to do now to get some good ones. I'm looking forward to trying them. ;-)
Hey! Where did Martha Mac go??
