I had bought some super cute purple ribbon with annoying silver glittery thingies on it. I was going to incorporate it into the purpley, silvery masterpiece but I didn't have enough. I decided to have my friend, Nancy, make a bow for me. I wasn't quite sure what I was gonna do with the bow once I had it...details schemtails...
So on Nancy's last day of work before retirement (lucky bish...) I brought in my ribbon & she whipped me up a bow...
I swear she makes THE best bows...ever...
All the annoying silver glittery pieces were all.over.my.desk.
And eventually were all.over.my.floor.

Voila, the finished product! Isn't it bee-u-ti-ful?!
Ok, so what to do with this bow? Remember how I told ya'll I always, always wanted to be married? When B-rad & I got engaged, I got so excited to buy stuff for our house. And the Christmas before we got married, I made a wreath for our house. Shocking, I know. I just bought an evergreen wreath, some gold (yuck) ribbon, some white poinsettias & some other little thingies & started stuffing. I used old bread package ties (no lie) to hold everything in place.
So, I thought since I'd had a cleansing of all my Christmas stuff, the wreath should get the next makeover. I'm mad at myself because I didn't take a picture of it for you, but once I got the energy to do it, I just started ripping stuff off of it to get it done.
I put the bow Nancy made me on the bottom & then took the left over ribbon & wrapped it around. I had several silver ornaments left over to I was going to put those on it - the trick was figuring out how. Shauna suggested that I drill holes in the ornaments to put my wire through to attach them. UHM, she's the one with the penis, not me...so B-rad drilled my holes for me. (In the spirit of full disclosure, I did ask him to bring me the drill so I could do it. However, he knows me better than I know myself & said, 'no, just tell me what you want done & I'll do the drilling...') I had some old wire from my ill-fated jewelry making days but it wasn't rigid enough to get through the holes. So, I had to wait for a trip somewhere to get that floral wire stuff. While I procrastinated waited for a trip in town to get some, the wreath hung on the door...with the purple bow, ribbon & the only 3 ornaments I could get the flimsy wire through. Ghetto, I know...
I was finally forced to go to Walmart a couple of weeks ago & they had the floral wire. Just this past weekend when I started feeling better I decided to get the wreath done.
Here is the final product: (wow, the sun has really yellowed the door. Ick!)
I fully realize it only took me a month after Christmas to finish it. And yes, it's still hanging on our front door. I gotta get some mileage out of it before I put it away! Pssssh!

I like it! And since it's not red and green, I think it's safe to leave it up through Feb!
Looks great and is sooooo you! I still have my wreath hanging up. It's winter not Christmas so it's ok. I said so!
There is nothing wrong with having a wreath year round, you can always change up for the season. Looks good.
Love it! And I agree...leave it up!
