I went for the ball game but instead got attacked by small humans

Some you may remember that Alicia & I went to school together.  She was (ahem) a few years younger than me, but whatever...  Daniel played for the basketball team & the alumni game was this past weekend.  All the proceeds went toward the Relay for Life team!
When she realized that she was gonna have to drive all.the.way.back.home.to.the.country to a ball game, she knew who lived not too far away!  Me!  (Isn't it funny that she had to drive about 30-40 minutes to get there & I had to drive like 10?  That doesn't happen often!)

When I got there, it took the kids a minute to really warm up to me...but once they did...oh, it was on...

They decided to fix my hair...
(Tracey - this is the purple tank top I was telling you about...under a black sweater.  Genius!)
Jake kept saying, "cut, cut, cut, cut" & acting like he was cutting my hair.
Please notice how their mother is paying NO attention to what they're doing to me.  Really?
Nora's bow fell into her eyes. Poor thing...
Sam wanted to do a major close self portrait...
And Jake was all about it too...
Again, check out their mother...doesn't see a thing...
See my hand holding him back from the camera?  I was afraid the flash would blind him!
Nora was pretty unhappy at first.  She's such a momma's girl.  Hmph.   Eventually since I kept holding her even when though she cried she was content sitting on my lap.
Yes, B-rad was there.  If you look to the left of me you can see his cousin, Chad's, leg.  We saw him & B-rad was all about catching up with him.  That's why the kids were attacking me...usually that's his job...
Oh, by the way - Daniel DID play in the alumni game!  My advice before he hit the court: "Be sure to stretch really well.  I don't want you breaking a hip..."
When Alicia left to get the kids snacks, I said, "Ok, kids - I'M in charge!"   Sam thought that was hilarious (& negotiable...)  Lucky for them she came back quickly so no corporal punishment was inflicted.

They were eating their snacks & I was trying to keep Nora from crying...& someone else in the crowd (not me nor their mother) realized Jake had his finger in his sprite can & it.was.stuck.  He had a horrified look on his face.  Alicia jumped over & got his finger out...& it was cut.  Man I'm glad that didn't happen while I was in charge...
I let Nora play with my pretty bracelet.  I tried to take a pic...but the bow got in the way.  Sheesh...
Ah, there it is.  I had to hold the camera out just a bit further to bypass the massiveness of that bow...
Ok-look at this.  Seriously?  Just making a bottle right in your lap, huh?    Look at the mess this made.  Reason #4562 not to have kids...
Happy baby & happy baby holder...
This caught my eye from across the court.  Alicia said, "What are you taking a picture of?"  I replied, "You know EXACTLY what I'm taking a picture of..."  Yea, she saw them too.  How could you miss this?
Get a room.  Geez...

First of all, LOVE your facial expressions while getting your hair done. HA! 2nd-Sam cracks.me.up! He is always a ham for the camera. 3rd-WOW! Jake looks ALOT like his Uncle Matt! 4th-The GINORMOUS bow is adorable! I do believe that 'little human' could make any accessory look good! 5th-The super affectionate grandparents definitely need a room. I'm definitely not a big fan of excessive PDA. Did you get caught taking their pic? That would be priceless. :)

I think the kids sense your fear, and attack. And it's awesome. :)))))

Yes, this was hilarious on so many levels. Nora's bow, Alicia not paying attention. Us moms need a break anytime we can get it. Great post, great post!
