For those of you who may not know, B-rad's parents drive a semi. They have their own company & they are their own bosses. Ann's truck is a Peterbilt. It's been around as long as I have & I've been around 16 (long, agonizing) years. I asked B-rad last night how long they've had it. He said it's a 1987 & they got it in '88 or '89. B-rad's parents do NOT believe in roughing it (which is greaaaat!) so 11 or 12 years ago they had a big bunk put on it. What that means is that instead of just a bed in the back, it has a refridgerator, shower/bathroom, stove top, convection oven, sink, & a bed (that is on hinges so it lifts up against the back wall & underneath is a table.) Yea, it's really nice.
Well, the Peterbilt has been all over the country, Canada & Mexico. It's even been to Alaska. Sadly, the little engine that could (& also has over 2 million miles...) finally had enough. It blew up on them while they were on the road. Now, I don't have the guts to be out on the road. Driving a vehicle. That could blow up. Or blow a tire. Then have to be fixed. Then I'd be stranded. Nu uh, I'm a wuss like that.
And there's only one thing Ann loves more than she loves her washer & dryer at the houseboat - her Peterbilt. So they had great discussions about what to do.... and they decided to get her fixed.
So after I called to admit my itty bitty teeny tiny handle breaking incident, we stopped by there on our way home to see the truck all hooked up ready to go to the 'hospital'.
They hooked it to another semi to pull it there.
