4th of July...yea, I'm behind...

I was told I'm not allowed to skip any posts...& since I always do what I'm told  -we're gonna do a throwback to two weeks ago & 4th of July.

Brian & Shauna had some people over...& when I say people...I mean a few people & a TON of kids.  It was kid hysteria.  They swam, they screamed, they cried, they got in & out and in & out and in & out & they even argued a bit.  Sigh.  I could not escape it...

Shauna & I went shopping for the par-tay like 2 hours before it was supposed to start.  (She's impulsive like that.)  We bought a cake for dessert... & Shauna chose the wording.  We got a good laugh out of this.  The chick at the counter didn't know how to spell awesome.  We thought we were gonna die...

 Dylan enjoyed the cake & it was too much trouble to use a fork, so he just scooped it up into his hands.  

 B-rad & Shauna couldn't be outdone by the epic cupcake fight on Derby day...

before I knew it - cake was flying everywhere.  She got B-rad pretty good.

 That next weekend Rough River was having their fireworks.  Everyone goes over in their boats & hangs out at the dam until dark.  These stupid people had sparklers in the front of their houseboat.

 They really stepped it up this year & had fireworks coming out from the water.

 I like this one because of all the pretty colors.

 On Sunday before we left, the wind picked up, it was thundering & lightning & the rain started.  

 The glorious, glorious rain.  

We decided to wait it out because it's quite a walk from the houseboat dock to the car.  And we waited...& waited.  It never stopped.  We finally walked to the car & got soaked.  But I don't care... I never curse the rain...
