Ok, stalkers - it's another installment of 'boring stuff we've been doing to tell you about'. Lucky, lucky you!
First I will begin with the riveting story of my backordered new toe ring. It finally came in & I love it. Simple, yet blingy.
If you are confused because you saw the first ring on my left toe last week, never fear. I moved the first ring to my right toe & put the backordered one on my left toe. Stellar blogging, I know....
I participated in our annual Hostess appreciation sample sale last weekend. We had a pretty good turn out & I was able to sell a little over $400 in samples. That money will come in handy when the new jewelry comes out.
As everyone knows, we are living in the middle of a desert right now. Our poor corn looks so pitiful. The leaves roll up to protect themselves from the heat & they look like cactus.
Some of the leaves are even turning brown from lack of water.
Here's a little farming lesson for you. This is a very important time in the life of the corn. This tassel is what fertilizes the ear & makes kernels grow.
The little fertilizer thingies fall onto the ear & these silks will create kernels. B-rad says that it is so hot that when the microscopic fertilizer thingies fall onto the silks, instead of sitting there & doing their thang, they are burning up. Lovely...
The only place in our yard that doesn't look dead is where our septic lines are. Lovely again...
B-rad got a new wakeboard & I told him I'd take his picture. Don't you love that pose?!
Here'e what we have coming up to enthrall you: going to the lake...again.
I have to pack for Texas next week & I am going to attempt to do 4 days in a carry on. (Any tips or tricks are greatly appreciated!)
And uhm, I think that's it. I tell ya - we are some happenin' people...

Love that picture of Brad! He's a nut! When I had to pack for Europe, I just had to come to terms that I was going to be wearing pants over again. Gag! I took plenty of shirts but I had to wear pants over. I also only took one pair of comfy shoes. Gag again but I didn't want to be dragging a huge bag all over Europe.
You are about as happenin' as us. Geez. So, if the corn dries up form this drought then what? Like will you lose a whole crop?
I love boring stuff, that's my life right now. You can take a carry on and a personal item, so do you have a big purse? You can use that for all your cosmetics and such and the carry on for clothes. The hotel should have a hair dryer so u won't need that. You have to take small clear bottles for shampoo & conditioner anyway, take travel toothpaste, deodorant, etc. Summer shoes are smaller so that should help. You can do it!
Ginmommy-yes, if the corn dries up to dust we lose. Done. We may have some fields that fair better, but it is what it is. I don't/can't worry about it.
Man, I really, really need to finish my farming post...
