You can call me Martha Mac

After one of my recent posts, Tracey said she was going to start referring to me as 'Martha'.  I thought, "Tsk, tsk...I'm no Martha Stewart..."  But...after my latest accomplishment...I'm close....really, really close...

I had a jewelry show last night super close to the mall so I stopped at Old Time Pottery to get the glass things for the ornament thingies I wanted to make.  I have NO decorating skills whatsoever.   Seriously - our house is a big hodge podge mess of crap I see that I like.  Sadly most the time the crap I like does not go together in the slightest.  Sigh.

I knew I wanted a bowl for the coffee table & some taller ones for on top of the entertainment center.  I don't know why I wanted that - I just did.  I got home around 10:30 from my show & I was uber excited to get it all done.  There was one teeny, tiny problem...B-rad was ponin' noobs in my living room.
(That's gamer slang for killing other people via guns, knives, whatever...)

I did the bowl on the table first because I wasn't going to be in his way there.  See the blue & gray stripes on the left...
Yea, that's B-rad ponin'....  (Also don't mind the clutter on the coffee table.  I told you I was excited & didn't take the time to tidy it up.)  Martha Stewart no... Martha Mac yes...
I wanted to get a garland to lay on top of the entertainment center too.  Shauna & I had found one when we were shopping at Hobby Lobby Friday.  It was gorgeous.  She said, "Oh, it's $60 because it's half off."  I said, "What?!  That thing is $120?  They're smoking crack.  I'm not buying that even if it IS 1/2 off!"  But at the Ghetto Hobby Lobby (Old Time Pottery) they had a pretty one with silver & more glitter (B-rad was thrilled!) for $20.  Yea, I snatched that bad boy up.  I was trying to put it up by myself while is was ponin'.  But it was long & awkward & I was only allowed to stand to either side of the huge screen.  He said, "Hmph.  I will help you in a minute.  I JUST started this game.  You'll HAVE to wait."  So I stood on the chair...holding the garland...waiting patiently for him to die...
I want you to notice the sheer speed in which he jumped up & placed that garland...
he had to get back to ponin'...
Next were the tall glass thingies I wanted on top of the entertainment center.  I LOVE them.  The tops of the entertainment center aren't straight across, they drop down a bit & that messed up the whole look I was going for.  I'm SURE Martha Stewart would come up with something else besides a candy cane box to set her ornament thingies on.  Martha Mac uses what she's got...
See how good the candy cane box makes them look by appearing they're sitting level, not dropped down 4 inches?!

Sure, it's not as glorious as the one at Hobby Lobby...but is was $20, c'mon.  Also-I'm sure Martha Stewart would've dusted before she put all this up.  Martha Mac only dusts what she can see...& she's short...

Here's the completed look.  It looks a little busy right now...but it was after 11:00 & I was tired.  B-rad would not let me move his tractors either.  Hmph.  I probably need to take down my big ass floral arrangement on the right so it doesn't look so cluttered too.
 UHM,..yea, that's B-rad...ponin' noobs...with a gun...on the screen...

That's funny that you stood there and "waited for him to die" I totally understand!! Look at you, in all your Christmas spirit! I'm proud of you, now if I could only think of a way to get you to like Christmas music....

I love your slang! I am totally going to have to go for the glass containers/ornamnet thingies one year.
