A much deserved day off

I always like to save a vacation day to use in December to go shopping.  Last year Shauna went with me & we had a great time.  I asked her if she'd like to do it again this year & she said yes.   I have had several days off this year, but I've been doing something (vacationing...yea, life's rough...) on each day off.  I was SUPER excited to just have a day off to do whatever I wanted.  I really enjoy hanging out with Shauna.  She's a lot like me, but she's also like B-rad.  Isn't that weird?  I tell her all the time she's a girl with a penis.  She can dry wall, paint, fix stuff, whatever.   She also doesn't always have to be up her hubby's ass (I know, I'm blunt) & I like that too.  Especially since my hubby is always doing something.  Shauna & I go out to dinner or shopping & she will leave her hubby at home.  I appreciate that about her.

Before we left the house, she gave me a scarf she made me.  Purple, lighter purple, a pinkish purple & white.  Score!!!
Insert HOURS of shopping here.  We had even talked about trying to squeeze in a nap mid-day (see why I love her?!), but that didn't happen.  We had a nice lunch break at O'Charley's & went right back to shopping.

On the way home, we saw this house & its impressive light display... I mean, why bother?!
Here's our haul.  My goal this year was to pay cash for Christmas with my jewelry money.  We have 16 people to buy for & if I don't try to keep myself on a budget I can get into big trouble.  (But budgets are sooo boring!)   I've done some shopping online & I kept a list of what I had spent to this point & then as we shopped through the day, I wrote down who I bought what & how much I paid.  I'm proud to say - I got everything bought AND stuck to the budget.  I even had $20 left over.  (Yea, I use coupons & everything!)
If ya'll think I went shopping & didn't buy stuff for myself, well you're just crazy.  I had to reward myself for staying on budget!  I've been looking everywhere for a mirror for my office.  I leave my jewelry in there & that's where I bejewel myself.  Right now I put on what I want, then walk to the bathroom around the corner to check myself out.  We went to Hobby Lobby & I found this gem right here.  If this isn't the coolest mirror you've ever seen-you don't know what cool is.
The only drawback was the price.  It was $50.  Gulp.  Ya'll know I'm cheap.  But I really, really liked this mirror.  If you're familiar with Hobby Lobby, you know that they always have 50% off of some items.  But they rotate them.  If mirrors & such are 50% off one week, the next they're not.  This week was NOT the week to get mirrors 50% off...  Tear...  Shauna convinced me to get the stupid mirror because we've been looking forever for one.  (See Sonny in the bottom of the pic...he hit the jackpot when he wandered here...)
When I got to the check out, she said, "Your total is $26.82."  I said, "Uhmmm, was it 1/2 off?!"  And the chick looked at her discount sheet & said, "Oh, no it isn't, but I gave it to you anyway."  I said, "OH, BLESS YOUR HEART!"  Then I shrieked, "Shauna!  The mirror was 1/2 off!!!!"  The chick said, "I'm so used to hitting the 1/2 off button I just did it on yours.  Don't tell my manager!"  "Ok, your secret is safe with me!!!"  What a great day!!!
