We headed to the lake this weekend for the long 4th of July holiday weekend. Our bff's, the Bye's, came with us this time. The last time they came to the houseboat was when Hurricane Ike hit. The big joke was that the one time they came a hurricane hit & if one hit this time, they were never coming back.
The state puts on a fireworks show so Saturday morning we took the houseboats over to the dam to have front row viewing. B-rad drove his parents boat over. Moving the houseboats makes me super nervous. I mean, they're big floating houses for Pete's sakes. You can't very well stop them by just putting out your hand. If something goes wrong, you're a sitting duck! But B-rad did a great job for not really driving the houseboat much.
We tied off to the beach & hung out all day. We played cornhole, swam, relaxed & I took a nap. Tee hee, I do love me a nap!
Cole dug a hole in the mud & decided to throw a bit...
Then he rubbed it all over his body. Hey-some people pay big bucks for mud baths. His was free...
B-rad & Carrie took the jet ski out for a spin.

Brad took a ton of pics with the camera. For your viewing pleasure - a peek down my shirt...
Carrie & Matt before the fireworks started.
This pic proves 2 things. #1-I am seriously short. #2-a day of fun in the sun (& napping) doesn't look good on me!
Other boats come over to the dam before the fireworks started.

We didn't even get our ski boat out until Sunday later in the afternoon. There were 9 gazillion people out on the water. We waited until after supper Sunday night before we went out.
I got some really good shots of Brian skiing.
Cole showed Carrie how to stick your hand in the water to splash yourself.
Brian jumping the wake.
Matt & Carrie went for a spin while Brad was skiing.
Next was B-rad's turn. I did ok taking pics of him. I had a lot more blurry ones of him than I did Brian. Ruh-roh...

Cole had to show off his knee boarding skillz.
Brian & the boys loaded up on the jet ski so Brad & I could show the Bye's the rest of the lake.
Monday was really relaxed too. We went out on our ski boat around noon while Brian & Lora took their houseboat back over to the dam to swim.
B-rad starting jumping off the houseboat.
And Cole soon followed....
I jumped off too...but you'll just have to take my word for it because no one took my pic. Sigh... I was scared to death though. My hands were shaking & my heart was pounding. I had to make Brady count to 3 to force me to jump.

Carrie jumped off but Matt wasn't real sure about it. When she went back up to the top to go again, he pushed her off.

I guess he decided to jump or risk Carrie coming back up there to hurt him.
We had a really fun time. The 3 day weekends are tough on me because it's a little 'too' much togetherness for me & I get snippy. Plus I don't sleep as good as I do at home so that doesn't help. I always enjoy going to the lake, but the evening I get home, I still feel like I'm swaying just a bit like we do on the houseboat!
Thanks, Bye's, for going with us! And of course a big thanks to Lora for cooking for us all weekend!
