The tick bite did not kill me

I have not posted anything since my horrific tale of the tick bite. Never fear, I did not die from it. It is now a small red bump that itches & annoys me. It will heal - however the scars from being felt up by the doctor will never go away... I would like to say I'm so glad you guys got humor from my misery. And I'm being totally serious. As I sat at work & thought about what had transpired I was like, "This is too ridiculous NOT to blog about!" I like it when I make ya'll laugh!
Anywho, not too much has been going on. We've both been working & B-rad's been putting down nitrogen just as fast as he can. Farming lesson #473-nitrogen has to be put down before the corn gets too tall & gets knocked over by the tractor. With all the little rain showers we've had, the corn is growing faster than the nitrogen can get put down. This is a problem.
Saturday was our 11th anniversary. I don't really expect a whole lot on our annivesary. I mean, it's just us all the time anyway. It's not like I expect us to do 'something' & I'm not a real 'romantic' kinda gal. I don't want flowers & poems & lovey dovey cards (do not confuse this with my need for thank you cards...) . I would rather have real substantial gifts to admire, wear, play with or sell. Anyway, since I chose to get married in the middle of summer, I should have also known that anniversary celebrations would be few & far between because of the farming thang. Ahhh, if I only knew then what I know now....
So B-rad texted me about 5:00. I had just awoken from a 3 hour nap & had started painting my toenails. He said that he would quit early & we'd go get something to eat. He called me around 6:30 & said to come get him from the field. About 7:30 we headed to Corydon for an annivesary dinner. But B-rad made a turn he shouldn't have & I said, "Where the hell are you going?!" To which he replied, "I wanna look at the fields." I swear these farmers... So we took the scenic route to Corydon to check out the crops.
We finally made it Frischs (oh yea, we're flashy like that... but I LOVE their salad bar...AND the fish sandwich!) & we ate & talked. We were stuffed when we left, but I said, "So now we can go get blizzards?!" And B-rad was like ,"No way, I'm stuffed. I'm going to puke!" And I said, "Well, I saved room for a blizzard so lets go! There's ALWAYS room for blizzards!" So we got to Dairy Queen & I had visions of a Reese's blizzard floating in my head. I asked Brad, "Are you going to get one?!" He said, "uh, yeah..." "I thought you didn't have room?!" "Like you said - there's always room for blizzards!" So our anniversary dessert were blizzards. Y-U-M! We came home & played some games on the Wii. He kicked my butt all over the place in Mario Kart, but I got my revenge on darts!
Yesterday was the bff's sons graduation par-tay. I took lotsa pics that I will hopefully post tonight. It was hot as all get out - but it turned out nice.
I also had my first jewelry par-tay in like 2 weeks. It was nice to have a the break, but I gotta get back into my groove. One thing I'm going to really try to do is 'control' my calendar better. I cannot just keep having my schedule wide open & whenever the hostess wants to have a show I say, "OK!" no matter what I've got going on! (Like travelling 1 & 1/2 hours one way 3 times in 1 week. Nu-uh, ain't gonna do it anymore!) I need to decide which days I want to work. (I think I'm going to choose Mondays & Wednesdays. There's no jazzercise on Monday & the instructor on Wednesday I'm not real crazy about. Plus I can fit in another class on Sunday mornings with my favorite instructor...) That's what it's all about anyway right? This is MY business!
I don't remember if I told you but I won my prize for May. I almost killed myself doing it, but that's ok - I'm sure it's just like having a baby - I'll forget all about almost dying when I get my prize! I'll share pics when I get it - in Texas....
