Amber's bridal shower

My cousin, Amber, is getting married next weekend. Technically she's my 2nd cousin, but I was like 8 when she was born, so we kinda grew up together. Her bridal shower was yesterday. And I hate to be rude, but her friends don't throw a shower like Jaime Mac throws a shower. When I got there, no one greeted me. I just walked in - got stared at & sat my happy bootie down. Apparently there was a 'clothes pin' game, yet no one gave me a clothes pin nor told me the word NOT to say until Amber's mom came over to talk to me. Maybe it's just me, but I think it's tre tacky not to even say 'hello' to your guests when they walk in. When they told us to go get food, they didn't have any condiments set out until most of us had our food & sat back down. I run a WAY tighter ship than that.
Anywho - enough of my soapbox. We played a couple of games. A word scramble game & a game about Amber. I didn't win a prize - I was NOT on my A game...We did play an interesting game where we had to draw Amber on her wedding day in her dress...but we had to do it with our eyes closed. Mom made sure not to cheat by covering her eyes as well. This is my finished product. I think it's pretty good. She doesn't have a face or anything...details schmetails...
Amber got to go through them all & pick which she liked best. She did not pick mine. Hmph...
Amber's a BIG Little Mermaid fan so her mom got a cake that was 'Little Mermaid' themed. AND perhaps the best part of the shower? When the groom's mom cut the cake, she put both flavors on each plate. That ends the gut wrenching decision of choosing 'vanilla or chocolate?' Be still my heart - we got BOTH...
Amber & her momma-my cousin, Ann. She used to babysit Jer & I... poor thing...
Someone made Amber & Chris a personalized blanket. VERY cute. It had pictures of them on it.
I did not get creative with my gift. I was a good shower attendee & purchased a gift directly from her registry - a red crockpot.

I love the blanket idea. I'd never be able to do it, but what a special gift!! And, GOOD FOR YOU for choosing off the registry! I mean, that's why we gals register, right? ;)
Showers are FUN!!

Not cool to walk into a party without being properly greeted. Not cool at all.
