Change of scenery

Yesterday I had to go over to a friends house I used to go to school with. And it's ironic because now she lives on the road behind our house. And ya'll know I'm always on the look-out for something to blog about. When you drive down the road behind the house - you are looking smack dab at our field. And I thought, "hhhmm - there it is." So like any self respecting blogger - I took out my camera & stopped in the middle of the road & snapped some pics.
I'm always showing you pics of the house from the same vantage point. How boring? And seeing the field from this aspect always makes me realize how massive it is. The 'thing' in the middle of the pic is our house. Everything surrounding it is our land. And I really am proud of my hubby because he works SO hard on the farm & the farm is what makes the land payment. Our house is on 112 acres - the payment ain't cheap... OK-let me explain. Brad & Brian's parents used to farm. But they had to sell their land in 1997. So they sold 200 acres to Brian & Lora & they sold 200 acres to B-rad. (We were just dating at the time...) So we have 112 acres here & the rest is in another location in another county...) And the way it works is that the farm pays for the land. So Brad & Brian's hard work is what makes a lot of this possible.
And on the way back to the house - I stopped at the top of the hill & took some more pics. And maybe you don't care. That's ok...I'll forgive you...
And I was just a couple of days late - because where the dirt has been disturbed used to be some trees & brush. But a guy had been out this weekend to clear that stuff out. (& trust me, I wasn't happy about it - that's where I would haul my clippings & stuff from the yard. But when I expressed my displeasure to B-rad - he said, "Well, too bad...you'll have to take it to another spot." Geez - doesn't he know how far away that other spot is?!)
After letting the faithful & loyal steeds stay inside this winter, it's a battle in the morning now because they want to come inside. Yesterday I was running late & didn't have time to fight with them. When I opened the door - they ran out like they stole somethin'.
But outside has something that inside doesn't have. Gravel. Apparently gravel is THE thing to use to scratch your back.
'cuz they both rolled & flopped around until they had white dust on their fur.
See...another reason I need gravel... Back scratchers for the kitties...
