Is there a "football for dummies" book?!

Our nephew, Brady, had a home football game last night. Now - I do not profess to know much about football. I know what a touchdown is. I know what a tackle is. Um, uh, er, and that's pretty much it. I think I heard someone say he played offense. Is that what your team does when you have the ball? Then, yup, that's it -- offense...

And while I had no clue what his "job" on the field was and despite the fact that he didn't even know I was there, I was proud to watch him get out there & play!

Waiting on the sidelines & watching intently as his teammates try to block a touchdown (oh yea, I guess I know what blocking is too?! Is that blocking?!) He's #83...

But c'mon people, he's still a McAfee-he has to be a little social - it's in his DNA! I'm sure they were strategizing or talking about stealing the ball or tackling or something.Brady's cheering section.

The mascot for North Harrison is the Cougar. This is the scariest damn Cougar I've ever seen!
Have I mentioned how Madelyn's love for Brian annoys me?!

Notice how he's holding his arm out? I don't really know why he's doing that, but I like to think he's telling those whimps from Charlestown, "Stay back if you know what's good for you!" (by the way, NH lost 20-0, details schmetails...)

As we were leaving the school, I saw the marching band practicing. Ahhh - takes me back to the days of practicing on the blacktop parking lot in the heat of summer at band camp.

But they're all fancy schmancy now... the band teacher has a freakin' crane to stand up & look out over the formations & hear the music. Dang - back in my day all we had was a piece of wobbily scaffolding.
