My Memorial day...

I had to go w/ Brian to Corydon to get a new fertilizer pump. Now, some of you may not know the dynamic between me & my bro-in-law. But lucky for you, I love to share & will tell ya the whole story!
Back in the day, he dated a friend of mine & that's how I met him. (I met Brad when I was hangin' w/ Brian & my friend...) One of the first few times I was around him, he called me a "lying snake in the grass". Thus, the rocky road began. I can also admit that we are a lot alike, which is probably why we don't get along. We are both opionionated, hard headed & like to have things OUR way!
So you can imagine the fun we had in a vehicle together driving. Tensions are high right now w/ both the boys. He was mad @ Brad & mad about the way the corn's coming up & mad @ his job & mad that he's behind in spraying & mad that they're behind in planting. I won't say we "argued" the whole way, but lets just say that we had a "spirited" conversation & I told him we could agree to disagree.
We went to Tractor Supply & he checked the pump out to make sure it was the right one. $280 later & we were on our way.
Then we drove to a field in Georgetown so I could drop him off so he could spray & I had to drive his truck back home. It's the biggest freakin' vehicle I have ever driven .

It's a stick. Yes, I can drive a stick. However, we all know how every vehicle is different, right? First, I couldn't get the darn thing in gear. So I had to get out & ask him how to get it in gear. His answer, "push the clutch in". Really? Hmmm...hadn't thought of that. Of COURSE I pushed the clutch in! He said, "you have to push it really hard". Uh, ok, I did that too. "No, you have to push it almost to the floor." Ok, hadn't tried that. So I had to pull the seat up to where my chest was practically rubbing the steering wheel (yeah, it sucks to be short...) & then I was able to push the clutch through the floor & off I went.
Then I got to the road to leave the field. It's a steep incline & it's ultra fun getting a manual transmission to take off when you're on an incline. I killed it...5 times. Panic started to set in. I pleaded.. "Please, God, don't let me have to roll backwards & tell Brian I can't get his freakin' truck onto the road." I put that baby in lo-gear & was finally able to get the heck outta there! Thank you, God, for hearing my pleas...

When I got back home, Brad was putting down nitrogen next door.

I made lunch & then I got a phone call. From Brian. "Come back & get me @ the field." So I went BACK to Georgetown (this time I took my car...) & picked him up from the field & took him back to the semi.

Brad had finished side dressing in the neighbor's field & then came to our house to get started there.
Unfortunately, no fun stuff for the McAfee's this Memorial Day. It's a stressful time 'round here & I cannot WAIT for planting to be done!
