With friends like these, who needs enemies?

On Saturday, I was supposed to have lunch w/ my friend Alicia & loyal blog stalker, Jessica.  Sadly, however, Jessica had a death in her family :( & couldn't make it.  Since we'd had the date on our calendars for months, Alicia & I decided to go ahead & suffer through spending time together without Jessica.

The only major minor change was that the whole 'other McAfee' clan came along.  We loaded into their van & Alicia sat in the back with the kiddos (I may not have survived that...I'll tell you why in a sec), Daniel drove & I got to be co-pilot.
Alicia's huge smile should've warned me something bad was about to happen... something very bad...
We started to back out of the driveway & I heard something so heinous I nearly cut my ears off.  It was the repulsive sound of Christmas music in November.  (Yea - we all know I hate it. If you have forgotten - read here.)
I looked down & saw the radio station &  my heart sank...
I looked at Daniel - he looked at me... & that's all it took.  Christmas music blaring & the whole family singing along.... If that's not love, I don't know what is, people?!
UHM, they changed the freaking name of the station from 'Gen X' to 'Gen Xmas'?  You have GOT to be kidding me!!!!
We went to Qdoba for lunch.  Daniel is a pro at keeping track of Nora's bows.  I found this hilarious...
After lunch, obviously they wanted to spend more time with me to force me to listen to the horrible music so we went to the new Orange Leaf yogurt place.  A sing along of Christmas cheer.  Great.
What I did not get on video was Daniel driving in & out of parking lots & back & forth holding me against my will a bit longer.  What warms my heart the most is that Daniel is quite the money 'manager' & for him to waste selflessly use money & gas just for ME?   It truly was a Christmas music miracle.

Ok-so the yogurt place - it's a kids dream & a parents nightmare.  You fill up your cup with yogurt & toppings & THEN they weigh it & charge you.  My advice to anyone w/ tiny humans would be strict parental supervision when you walk in... STRICT.

Nora shared Alicia's yogurt & this chick was in it to win it.  She was shoveling like a pro...
She had no problem posing for me with a mess on her face.  Her momma is raising her right...
I thought Jake's yogurt catastrophe creation was one of the most disgusting things I had ever seen...

sadly, I was mistaken because this is what it looked like after we all sat & ate our yogurt AT Orange Leaf & he brought his home to finish.  Gag.
Thanks to the McAfee clan for the torture wonderful time we spent together.  We missed having Jessica there.  If it makes you feel any better, Jessica - I blame this all on you...

Hahahahahaha!!! I am SOOOO glad my family could be there for you!!! We love you bunches and bunches. We missed you, Jessica!!

PS. My boys cheered when I told them Jaime was coming over. They LOVE to torment her....where do they get that?

I can't believe I wasn't included in all the Christmas cheer! :)

That video is awesome.

We have strict rules in those yogurt places, it's not a free for all. Cooper's creation would be out of control.

Can't wait for our next date! Glad that you could be entertained by Alicia. I mean, she is YOUR family. I would gladly claim her as mine!!

HAHA Jessica, of course I claim her! She's a riot! But I like to refer to Alicia as 'friend' because:
1) she's been my friend since for EVER ago.
2) if I say family it gives the negative connotation that she 'HAS' to hang out with me.
3) We all know she hangs out with me because she 'WANTS' too - not because she 'HAS' too so she's a friend!
(But she comes in REAL handy at family functions too! Safety in numbers!)
