Ok, so my friend, Shauna, (I think ya'll have heard of her?) & I were talking a few months ago (we tend to do that...) & I'm not sure HOW, but we got on the subject of Broadway musicals. Shauna was talking about how she'd like to see one & I said, "YOU'VE NEVER SEEN A BROADWAY SHOW?" (Yes...I was appalled.) I've seen a few over the years in Louisville (never ON Broadway). B-rad has seen a couple with me & even he enjoyed them.
A guy I work with volunteers at the Kentucky Center for the Arts so he has the inside scoop of what's coming. He let me know Wicked was coming back & I knew Shauna would love it. She mentioned it to her co-workers & all of a sudden there were like 15 of them going. I had seen Wicked a couple of years ago & I thought about not going again since she was going with all of them.
I really liked it though & didn't mind seeing it again.
Shauna's co-workers got reservations at a restaurant & originally we were going to eat with them, but then changed our minds. We ate dinner together & then headed over to get there early because I'm stupid crazy about being on time.
Since we were like 12 days early for the show, what else was there to do but have a Wicked themed drink at the bar?
We decided on the Green with Elphie. It was really sour & tart. But yummy...& strong. It was also expensive. $7...EACH!
So I had almost finished my Green with Elphie & ya'll know my mouth gets bigger when I drink. (Yea, it doesn't take much.) This chick walked up to the bar beside me.
I KNOW, RIGHT?!
(No worries, I told her I took a picture of her shoes just as the flash went off & she looked at me & said, "DID YOU JUST TAKE A PIC OF MY SHOES?") She really was super friendly. Thank GAWD because THAT could've been awkward...
Our seats were on the 6th freakin' row. When B-rad & I saw it, we were in a box. I didn't like that because I felt like we were above all the action. THIS I liked.
2 witches...at a play...about witches. Ironic...
Shauna's boss wore a black dress & these socks. UHM. I get it, they go along with the theme. They're also purple which I have no problem with. But this is the Kentucky Center for the Arts, people. It's an UBER nice place & they just looked trashy to me.
The socks were also a way for her to get attention.
Exhibit A: A group shot of all her co-workers....look who's trashy sock laden leg is stuck right out front for ALL to see....
Shauna LOVED the musical & in true 'Shauna is the male version of B-rad' style - we already have plans to go see Beauty & the Beast at the end of the month. Plus I'm on the look out for other off-Broadway musicals that are coming back to take her too.
Since she had never been before, I knew she wouldn't know what to expect so I was explaining some things to her. At the end of the first act, I was looking through the program to find out how long intermission was. She said to me, "OH, it's not OVER?" Hhhhmmm I forgot to mention there would be intermission...whoops.

You and sunshine looked beautiful! Love that you took her, I think that's awesome. I haven't been to a broadway show in for-ever! I think Wicked would be a good one to see :)
I need to know the full story of Wicked. My bro in law got my mom and me tickets a couple years ago but I came down with a bad case of food poisioning. Top it off with being preggers, I was not up to it. Heard it was great. Keep me updated if The Lion King ever comes back.
You did look beautiful.
Yes, Ginmommy - Wicked is GREAT!
JLL-Wicked is the story about how the Wicked Witch of the west became 'wicked'. Her & Glinda were friends & then some stuff went down & drama ensued! :) It's funny & makes you cry all at the same time. I would recommend youtube'ing 'defying gravity' & see if they have a clip of it. It's INCREDIBLE.
Lion King is also great. I'll let you know if it comes back!
Thanks for the compliments too girls!
I love your outfit!! FUN! :)
Thanks for going Jaime. Im so glad you went with me! I know it was a "work thing" but it WAS our idea first! Thats OK- Beauty and the Beast is going to be EPIC!
