It has begun...

So ya'll remember I won an office makeover from my jewelry peeps, right? And ya'll may also remember I've been whining & crying about being depressed & in a rut?
Today...I will show you the root of the rut...
The actual makeover day is this coming Saturday. I've had visions of purple walls & the cutest purse border you've ever laid your eyes on. I also purchased THE most adorable cheetah print rug...in purple...be still my heart...
But first B-rad & I had to clear out the whole.entire.room. Because our house is a modular it's made a little differently than 'normal' homes. Our walls are this textured paneling stuff. B-rad wasn't sure if the paint would stick well enough to the walls like they were so we had clean them & then primer them.
Here it is. (Almost) completely empty. (That cabinet is waaaay too big to be moved out & there is nowhere else for it to go in my house... More on that in a moment...) Ready to be cleaned. And here is why I'm a freakin' nut job right now. My house....is a destruction zone... For 2 months now...
File cabinet & decorative tree (from our wedding...12 years ago...) in the front entryway... (The fish tank lives there all the time...)
Dining room & table full of...of...stuff...
My new desk is there on the floor on the right. Still in the box...(Can you spy another 12 year old wedding tree?!)And B-rad's new room? Well, it also had to be donated to the cause. The 'get it outta the office so we can work & find someplace else to stick it cause...' While B-rad started primering the walls...
I did what I do best. Gourmet cooking...Now - while I know there are no actual pictures of me cleaning walls or primering walls or putting down all that God forsaken blue tape...it did happen. I've got the sore arms to prove it! My job was to put the tape on the floor. We don't have baseboards so I had to put it directly onto the carpet. Then I had to go behind B-rad & wipe off the cleaning solution stuff. THEN I had to put the primer on the trim on the floor. Thank goodness it was white like the walls so you couldn't tell if little ole impatient me messed up!
After some consulting with people who know a lot more about painting & bordering than me, we realized that the paint was going to need to dry for at least 2 days before putting up my super cute purse border. So Gerilee & Brenda came over last night for a purple paintin' session!
Oh how do I love purple?!
I should totally make ya'll wait until the whole office is done but I'm way too impatient for that crap! It looks like Barney blew up in there but that's just the way I like it! We did 2 coats of each color! The border will go there in the middle-ish area where the purples meet.
I.LOVE.IT! It's soooo purple!
B-rad was gone to the barn while we painted. But since he A) put the blue tape around the crown molding so good & B) is the tallest - he had to take down some of the tape in the tough spots. Gerilee stood on the floor & instructed him on where & how to take it down.
All that painting really wore us out!
So one of the biggest hurdles is done. Painting. Saturday everyone is coming back over & we will attempt to:
- put up the super cute purse border
- put the desk together (?!)
- put the hella heavy cabinet where I want it (& then re-stock it from where I had to empty it to make it lighter so B-rad could move it away from the wall...)
- bring the file cabinet back in & find it a home
- hang stuff on the walls
- bring in the purple cheetah print rug plus other accessories that I'm not telling you about!
THEN at some point, all the crap in my dining room, entry way & B-rad's room is going to have to find a new place to live. I'm talking Christmas wrapping paper, summer clothes, junk, 12 year old wedding trees, etc. Where oh where will I put it all? Goodwill? Burn pile in the field? I'm not sure yet. But I will extend this to all you stalkers - if anyone has any sympathy for the poor girl whose house is a total nightmare & you like dealing & organizing total nightmares - I will welcome you with open arms to help me. Just wait until next weekend so I can recover from what I got going on this weekend....mmmm kay?!

I am more than willing to come help you. BUT, you know how I am. I will start throwing crap, I mean stuff, away!! If I get tired of looking at something, I toss it. No love lost here! I threw something away just the other night that was sitting on my end table. Tired of it? Don't need it? In the trash! Maybe it wouldn't be good with me being preggo on top of my normal craziness! ha! Let me know......

btw, the purple looks great!! i LOVE color!!

Gourmet meal...that's awesome!! :)
Ugh...I feel bad for you with all that mess. I could help, but I'd have two kiddos that would probably make an even bigger mess!!!!! I love it that you said it looks like Barney exploded all over the room and you love it! Cute. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Normally I'm a 'let it sit for awhile & then I get tired of looking at it & pitch it' kinda girl. B-rad is a pack rat like his daddy. "You just never know when you may need that!" But the office was always our room to just throw stuff in to get back to later. And later has finally happened! ;)
Listen - if I'm not in need of an intervention & cleansing, I don't know who is! Alicia I need to get you before that nesting thang is all gone! ;) And Ginmommy & Tracey? We can use those tiny humans of yours! We can say, "Ok, Levi-see that thing right there? Pick it up & take it to the garbage." While we sip a ice cold glass of lemonade! :)

-Totally kidding. I know I'm beyond help. The purging will happen...soon...or I will need to be committed...
