We went to Great Wolf Lodge with B-rad's fam for a little water fun this weekend! UHM-yea, it was snowing outside when we got there...
And apparently we weren't the only ones who had the Great Wolf Lodge idea because that place was packed!
B-rad's mom got us 'loft' style rooms. B-rad & I got to stay in the loft part of the room.
It's really cool because you can look down & see the rest of the room below...

Grammy & Payton played while waiting for Eric to get done playing.
We decided to leave around 5:30 to go eat dinner & give the place a chance to clear out a bit.
On the way out, Madelyn & Payton got to play a little bit more in the water.

He.has.arm.pit.hair. Eeeeek!
Stan & Ann gave Erin, Eric & the girls their Christmas presents because they didn't get to see them over the holiday. They gave the girls shirts that said something to the effect that they can't help their good lucks - you should see their aunt. Uh, duh...
Then it was time for B-rad's & Eric's birthday cake. B-rad turned 34 on Tuesday & Eric turned 25 (or half way to 50 as he put it...) on Thursday. We had to sing fast becaue the ice cream cake was melting!
Stanley customized B-rad's card to look like him. See the goatee & side burns? Hilarious!
Brian & Lora always get B-rad a ticket to the tractor pull at the farm show coming up in a couple of weeks.
The waterpark was open for a couple of more hours so everyone decided to go back. I stayed in the room becaue I wanted to use the high speed to watch the Grey's Anatomy episode I missed Thursday night. And when Brady found out I was staying-he wanted me to keep his laptop to download some iTunes. Yes, I like my electronic devices too...
So picture it: We had a superbowl party at the Other McAfee's that started at 4:00. I had it figured down to the minute. (Are you surprised?!) Leave around 11:00. 3 hour drive home. Showers & getting ready from 2:00-3:00. Leave for party 3:00-3:15. Be at party destination before 4:00. Perfect.
B-rad's quick wit got us off the interstate & into a parking lot without incident. Ok-there was incident. I was super nervous. My heart was pounding & I had visions of the truck on the side of the interstate in my head. Luckily his parents were behind us & saw us pull off so they came over to see what happened. I used my super cool iPhone to find the closest auto parts store.

Well, breakfast took a little longer than I thought. And we didn't hit the road until around 11:45. Ok-uhm, we could be on time to the party instead of early. I just had a few hives at this point. (You know I hate to be late...)
Then B-rad's truck had different plans. About 3 miles down the road we heard a thump. And B-rad couldn't steer the truck. And the brakes were really hard. Greaaaaat. We had broken a belt & a pulley thingie...

First stop - Pep Boys. One idler pulley & belt, please? Wrong - didn't have either.
Second stop - Autozone. One idler pulley & belt, please? Nope, not here...
While we were travelling to auto parts store #3, B-rad was quite gassy. And he is nasty, people. I'm sorry-he just is. This picture says.it.all. This is how he repays his parents from saving us...
Third stop-Smyth automotive. One idler pulley & belt, please? Nope. Are you freaking kidding me?! These guys decided to take the pulley apart to see if they could match it up with something else.
But then there was an issue with some hole size so we had to go BACK to the truck to check the hole size...
After about 3 hours of searching, we got all the parts we needed. And B-rad & his dad started to fix it. Yes, I am in a different vehicle 3 spots down from the truck with my camera zoomed in as far as it would go. It was cold out there! Sheesh! All I could think was, "Oh crap - those are B-rad's good jeans. He's going to get them filthy or ruin them. Sigh..."
My farmer hubby is always prepared...
I had played on my cell phone so much it was almost dead. So I was forced to get out of the warm car & walk to the truck to charge it. And B-rad had put on his coveralls. Like I said - pre.pared.
And I was never so proud as when he said, "I had to put my coveralls on becaue I had to get under the truck."
So 4 hours later we were ready to hit the road...again. It had been a stressful afternoon. And poor B-rad & Stanley had to go to 3 different places to get the right parts. And then they had to stay out in the cold to fix it & get all dirty. But they're not the only ones who suffered. I had it rough too. In the midst of all the breaking down - I broke one of my newly done nails. Oh.the.humanity...

Glad you had fun at great wolfe! i love that place! stinks about the car. we missed you guys!! hilarious about the nail! you should have found a place to have them done while you waited! not sure brad would have appreciated that though!
HEY W.T.H.!!!! My crack doesn't have a arrow on it. >:-/
Okay couple things....it always makes me laugh when you talk about how "close" the family is and then show pics of everyone on their cell phones, always makes me laugh!! Second, the way you talk about B-rad's "good pants" or proud that he put on his coveralls, I cant help but laugh again. Slightly like his mom, but I too treat Rico the same way ;) Lastly, I have never been to Great Wolf Lodge, and I want to go. That's all for now ;)
Awesome post! Loving the Vera Bradley, another good reason to make it up there. I too get panicky when I think I'm going to be late somewhere. Good to see you were such a good sport about it.
The picture of Brad's crack hanging over the loft . . . Could've gone all day without seeing that one!
What is Brad thinking while he is working on the truck in the cold and you are in a warm vehicle taking his picture? Just wondering.
It totally cracked me up that you talked about how close his family is and then showed a dozen (slight exaggeration) pictures of his family all plugged-in and tuned out. Ha ha! Oh, the information age! They were probably texting each other from one room to another or commenting on each others' Facebook statuses, right?
Denise, I was cool with it. Actually it was better she wasn't out there for 3 reasons.
1. If she is three cars away and in the heat. That means she's not nagging me and trying to tell me what to do.
2. I would hate for her to get dirty. That would be a totally tragedy.
3. Also if she helped and then broke a nail. OMG. I can't even begin to describe what would happen then. I don't even want to go there or find out either.
