I decorate the front porch with corn stalks every year. I mean, I dunno where in the world I would find corn stalks?!
Carrie decorates her whole freakin' front yard. For the last few years, they come over & we hook her up with corn stalks too.
Since Brad's always busy when I wanna get them, Matt is always there to bug the crap outta me, er-I mean-assist me. We went to another corn field since Brad was combining at our house. I didn't wanna get them there for several reasons: #1-we could've been run over by the combine. #2-It's hella dusty when he's combining. #3-There are "bees wings" flying everywhere & they are a pain in the boo-tay. (Oh, for those of you who don't know what bees wings are...they're like the the little thingies on popcorn that gets in your teeth. Even though we don't grow popcorn, that's how I would describe them. And when they're flying through the air, it looks like it's snowing!)
Matt tied down their stalks first.
Carrie felt sorry for this little bitty ear of corn. Maybe she thought all the other longer ears of corn would make fun of it?!
When we got back to our house, Carrie & I got the ears off the stalks. Hey-every little bit helps...
Last year, Matt helped me (& by help, I mean-he did it for me) tie the stalks to the porch. Let's face it, I KNOW I'm impatient & don't do things "the right way". My stalks would always fall over 'cuz I didn't have them tied well enough - but not last year. :) Matt did such a good job that I told him that "lucky him", I would let him tie my stalks every.single.year. Until he's dead...
