Colin Powell Pic of the stage when Colin Powell was speaking.
Rick Pitino
Rudy Giuliani
Terry Bradshaw
Zig Ziegler. I felt bad for this guy. Apparently he fell a while back & he lost his long term memory. When he spoke, he had to use speeches he'd given before & had written down.
Brad also said that this lady was on stage with him to remind him of things he'd forgotten.
This was who I would've wanted to see...Laura Bush.
She spoke about living in the White House. Brad said while she & Colin Powell were on stage there were guards walking around above the stage on the scaffolding & around the stage itself. Secret service I would assume..
It's hard to see, but she has a little Laura Bush bobblehead on the podium with her that a friend found - on clearance - & gave her!
Brad seemed to really enjoy the seminar. The only bad things he had to say were:#1-parking was $6.00. #2 two hot dogs & a drink for lunch was $8.00 . #3-they had a few 10 min breaks throughout the day, but ALL the people would head for the bathrooms & there was a line. Geez-poor baby! I told him now he knows what us CHICKS have to deal with all.the.time!

Let's get motivated!
Brad's work got tickets for the motivational seminar yesterday at Freedom Hall. His bosses asked him if I would want to go, but I was like - uh, I can't imagine sitting in Freedom Hall for over 8 hours nor did I want to miss 8 hours of pay from MY work.
I asked him to take the camera to take pics & he just looked at me. So I said, "worried about looking gay?!" He said yes. So he didn't take the camera but Rick Pitino was one of the first speakers & he took a pic & sent it to my phone. So I was like,"hey! Take more pics!" I guess the camera phone is not as gay as the regular camera. Hmph!

Mine & Brady's big adventure
We've had lots of spiders in the house lately. And there are these cool things called "hedge apples" that grow on trees at the barn that repel spiders. Lora offered to have Brady go out & get us some.
I was at the barn tonight because Ann made chili. Her & Stanley had to leave & she told me to make sure the boys got something to eat. They were behind the bins talking to the guys that are building the new bin. I waited for awhile & decided they were gonna need a nice shove to get them to come into the house to eat.
The pieces to the bin are finally here. This is just one of many piles of walls & vents laying around.
Told ya they were talking...
So Brady was going out on the 4 wheeler to get hedge apples & I was bored by the conversation the guys were having, so I said, "Hey, I'll go with you..." Big mistake...big!
We had to go through the edge of the field. Through pulp berries (which are purple & get on your jeans, uh, yeah-I had purple spots on my jeans when we were done...), through corn stalks, through branches hanging down & almost decapitating me. And Brady thought it was SO FUNNY to duck his head & let the branch hit me. Hil-a-rious...
A-ha! Success! Hedge apples!
Please notice all the crap on my shirt...this was nothing to compared to what I looked like when we were done. I didn't take a pic of that!
For the record, I did NOT tell Brady to pose like this. This is his fathers & uncles influence. I just told him to hold up the hedge apples & smile at me.
One of their dogs, Callie, followed us deep into the field.
We got 30 hedge apples. They are heavy & gross & oooze stuff out of them. Not only did I have purple stains on my jeans, I had this yellowy, sticky substance on my shirt & arms. Uh, yea - it was gross...
Brady turned the 4 wheeler & wagon around before I got back on. That kid had me screaming & almost flipped us over. At first, I had my hands around his throat & told him if he scared me, I would squeeze. I was too busy hanging on for dear life to worry about choking him to death.
Weird - the guys were STILL talking when we got back from our hedge apple round up.
I got sick of waiting around - so I went into the house, warmed up their chili, told them I was sick of waiting on them & I had crap to do at home (like wash my pulp berry stained jeans) & that they would have to clean up their own dinner!

Off to see the Wizard
Let me tell ya about "The Mustang". Brad bought it from his cousin, Daniel, about 7 years ago. Brad has had mustangs since I met him. When the house was broken into 3 years ago...it was stolen. No lie. The police found it 7 days later in Wyandotte Lake. I wish I had pics of what it looked like then. The interior was soaked & stinky & muddy. Luckily, Jeremy has a Mustang that he raced & all his interior was at our parents, so he gave that to Brad to replace the muddy stuff. Seats, carpet - everything was replaced.
Brad was driving it to work one Saturday morning. While he was crossing the Sherman Minton Bridge, it lost all its gears except one...4th gear. (Don't ask me how-I don't speak car engine.) Jeremy & I went over to load it up on the trailer - we brought it home that day & it hasn't moved since. That was about 18 months ago...
That breaks my heart because I love that car. And ya'll KNOW I love my Explorer...but there's something about the mustang. It's fast...it's red...it causes me to have road rage. What can I say? If someone is going too slow, I can drop it down to 4th & flat.take.off. Ahhhh...
It has been on Brad's "I'm gonna get around to doing _______" list. Well, Brad's a very busy guy. However, since he's also the kinda guy who can do ANYTHING, it's hard for him to accept the fact that time is NOT on his side & he may have to PAY someone to do something he can do for free. But he decided to take it to a guy to have another transmission installed. Yea!
Jeremy came over last night with the trailer to load it up. Since it only had 4th gear, my job was to stop traffic on the road (and to take pics, duh...) because he needed to get a running start to get up the steep driveway & he wasn't gonna be able to stop.

Getting ready...
The boys worked on the combine yesterday getting ready to start harvest.
They bought a new yield monitor for it this year & they wanted to get everything installed before they started running. In case ya don't know - the yield monitor tells them how much corn or beans they are getting when it runs through the machine. They can take that information & look at the map of each field to see where they need more chemicals or fertilizer to get the bushels per acre up. (I told ya we're fancy farmers.)

Happy Dance! :)
Yesterday I got a text from Erin that she saw on Channel 32 news that they caught the people that broke into our house. So I searched the web & couldn't find anything. So I went to my facebook peeps & within a short amount of time, I had 4 links to the video & 1 to the written story. God Bless the internet... http://www.wlky.com/video/20972893/
I watched the video & was like, hhmmm...sounds familiar. Our house was April 29th...our neighbors got a gray van on survelliance...so I called the police...of course I had to leave a message & I'm waiting for them to call me back.
Then this morning, a co-worker gave me his Floyd Co Tribune because he saw an article that he thought sounded like what happened to us. http://www.newsandtribune.com/floydcounty/local_story_259224451.html
And THIS really made me believe that it's the same people. We live right outside Palmyra, broke into on the 29th & they got survelliance of the vehicle from someone in Harrison County...hello? That was our neighbors!
I'm pretty happy about this...but still a little pessimistic because I'm sure all our stuff is gone already...but at least the scum bags are in jail. And I'm hoping that if the freakin' detective ever calls me back, at least they can be CHARGED with our break-in & maybe the insurance can sue their assess for the items they took from us!
And don't forget to keep your eyes peeled for that skanky, drugged-out lookin' chick in the video... It's VERY freaky to see the faces of the nasty people who were rummaging all through our house...

We've got some concrete...
I'm not gonna lie, it kinda hurts my feelings that no one had any guesses about the BIG construction we're doing at the barn. Ya'll KNOW I have acceptance issues - yet I had NO comments...not even one... *sigh* (But my bud, Alicia, did guess correctly in person so she's excused...but I'm still mad at the rest of you...ok, Lora's excused too 'cuz she's helping to pay for this monstrosity...)
I couldn't go over there Tuesday night after they poured some of the concrete, so I sent my happy helper (that's Brad in case you were wondering...) to take pics. And God love him, he tried his best...
but he just couldn't cut it when it came to trying to get the big picture shot. And of course, I criticized him & made fun of him & he yelled at me.
Anywho, I'm still made at ya'll so I'm STILL not telling you what it is, so there! :p (that's me sticking my tongue out at you if you didn't know...).JPG)

Lanesville Heritage Weekend
Brad & I went to Lanesville last night for their Heritage Weekend thingie. I'm telling you what, it must be the place to be 'cuz we ran into SO many people we knew. It's sad that here in the country that no one has anything else better to do but walk around Lanesville...including us!
I saw the tractor pulling the shuttle trailer was from work. Brad said I looked like a dork taking this picture. Yea, well I don't care...
We knew the other McAfee's were going & we were gonna try to meet up. However I didn't plan to have no freakin' cell phone service while we were there. I had texted her when we got close, then I had nothin' (well, I had "SOS" service...doesn't AT&T know that texts to me ARE practically saving my soul?!) . While we walked around looking for them, I'd get in spots where there was signal. I told Brad, "Stop! I have service!" We'd wait for anything to come through. Then I got a text "Bumper cars!" So we headed over to meet up w/ them! This is one of the MANY reasons I love Alicia. I'm just trying to take a pic, ya know, all casual...but she struke a pose...everytime! :)
Brad just loves Sam. He loves to play with him. Sam couldn't quit rubbing Brad's hair since it's cut so short! (BTW-Sam thinks my name is "Amy"...eh, that's ok - close enough! He's almost 4 years old! I'm just glad he kinda remembers!)
