A 5th wheel that was able to get a date

Brad went to Indy this weekend for the Moto GP races. For those of you who don't know, these are hella fast professional motorcycle races. Some have asked why I didn't go with him. Well, I'll tell ya - #1-tickets were $150...a PIECE...nu uh, ain't doin' it. #2-I don't care about professional motorcycle racers. I just care about amateur racers...& their races are free! (I told Brad I'll let him have a post about his weekend...that's right, I'm a giver...)
So while Brad was with his motorcycle gang watching the hella fast races...Alicia invited me to tag along for her bff Janelle's 29th birthday celebration. I don't really have many friends, so I just go & hang with other people's friends! When I got to Alicia's, I was like, "He-ay! The 5th wheel is here!" Then Alicia said that Meredith was gonna come solo! Hhmmm...5th wheel +6th wheel = a new couple! (Meredith is another one of Alicia & Janelle's friends...told ya I confiscate other peoples friends...but really, I had met her before...at Alicia's 30th bday party...& we are friends on facebook which is just like being real friends-uh, duh...)
Me & Meredith "aka...my date!"
I love this girl!
Meredith, me & Alicia
Then somebody got hold of my camera.
And she was workin' it.
And just havin' a good ole' time. And this isn't even all of them...I left out some of pictures...you're welcome, Alicia...& Marcia...
I know it's blurry-please don't judge!

This guy was SO funny dancing between Janelle & Alicia! I think it's probably the most excitement he'd had all week! (the short guy, not Daniel...)
Daniel started to miss his 'cuz, Brad, so he was trying to text him. I don't know if it worked...Daniel was in NO state of mind to text. And it was like 2 am!
Awww..can ya feel the love?!
Thanks again for letting me tag along! I had fun & it's nice to be included & accepted & loved by my friends friends!

Premier "round up"

I went to a Premier training thingie on Saturday in Elizabethtown, KY. The theme was "Wizard of Oz" & these ladies went all out. It was at the Coca Cola museum. When I got there, there was a guy that valet parked my car - how fancy! He told me to "Follow the Yellow Brick Road". When I walked in, this is what I saw! They had different jewelers speak about different aspects of the business. It was very interesting & I got LOTS of new ideas!
(This is for you, Kim Lewis :) ...) They also had another lady come from Houston to speak. Her name is Beverly Terrell. She's a seriously big deal w/ Premier! She has been with them for 21 years. She was 56 years old when she started. You can do the math...she's now 77 years old. She gave her testimony & then spoke to us about presenting the business to prospective jewelers. She was a funny, feisty ole' gal! She also has 79 jewelers under her...that's a lot!

This was one of my favorite parts. The leadership brought "prizes" for a raffle. You could buy raffle tickets & then put your tickets in the basket of what you wanted to win. Some of you may know I have a "thang" for bags! I had 30 tickets & I put 10 of them in a black & white striped bag that said "jewelry diva". It must've been my lucky day, 'cuz they drew my number & I won it! Yea for me!

Throughout the day, Dorothy, Tin Man, The Wicked Witch, Cowardly Lion & Glenda the Good Witch made appearances! These jewelry ladies do NOT mess around!

Heart/Journey concert - well, really just Journey

We had tickets to see the Heart/Journey concert at the fair Friday night. We ate dinner at Tumbleweed at Highlander Point and by 7:10, we were on our way (it started at 8:00). Some of you may not know this, but I'm ultra nutso about being early or on time. When we go to a movie, I like to be in the theatre no later than 15 minutes before the movie starts. Call me crazy, I don't care... So I wanted to have my happy bootie in the seat (our seats were on the floor) no later than 7:40pm. Plenty of time right? Uh, wrong. There was SO much traffic going into the fairgrounds. We sat & sat... & the more we sat, the madder I got. I mean, sure I like Journey, but I heart Heart! Then it became clear we were NOT gonna get to see all of the concert. "Even tempered" Brad was getting pissed too. I cannot tell you how frustrating it was! I was twittering like a maniac I was so mad! I even called Carrie to get Louisville Metro Police Departments phone number to call & yell at them that they needed to be directing traffic. I did call. They were closed. Go figure. They were probably all at the fair. If this doesn't prove how long we sat in traffic, nothing does. No, this isn't Brad....it was a dude in the vehicle in front of us. I never dreamed trafffic would be that bad!
We sat for an hour & a half.
After we finally paid to park, we had to drive all the way around the stadium to even find a parking spot. So then we had to walk a gazillion miles to get there.
Then we had to pee. Brad went into the men's bathroom & I saw girls going in there too...I should've known that wasn't a good sign. When I got to the women's restroom, the line was UN-BELIVEABLY long. Like so long that I told Brad, "C'mon, I hear Heart on stage, I'm not waiting in line!". See we ran to our seats. It was 9:00. We saw Heart sing 1 song. Magic Man.
Brad obviously wasn't as distraught about missing Heart as I was.
Journey was good. But I was still bitter about walking in an hour late. Heck, 2 days later, I'm STILL bitter! This is their new lead singer. He's pretty young compared to all those old Journey dudes. But I think he did a good job. I mean, they're Journey songs -classics-no matter WHO sings them.
I took video for you to judge for yourself...
Some nice lady behind us offered to take our picture. I have a smile on my face...but I was still pretty pissed! (And I still had to pee...I had went out during a song that I didn't know...the line was still incredibly long...& I wasn't waiting!)

I'm getting what I asked for

Brad & I have been on vaca this week from our jobs. I say "from our jobs" 'cuz Brad had quite a bit of work to do at the house. It was a top secret project. And you KNOW it pains me not to tell you WHAT it was 'cuz I have such a big mouth & all...but I just can't this time. It's a matter of National Security...
Ok, so after we camped w/ our BFF's last weekend, we stayed home. The whole.entire.week. Together. Uhhhh-by Friday the love fest was O-V-E-R & we were fighting & getting on each others nerves.
We had planned to come to the lake on Thursday & stay for the weekend. Then we found out that the a/c on the houseboat was out. Um, no a/c? Say it ain't so....we don't really "rough it" very well. And remember how I wanted it to be sunny & warm so I could get a tan? Well, um, yeah, uh, that should be no problem this weekend...
We waited until this afternoon to leave for the lake. When we got in the boat, it was 92 degrees...
So we set up a very extravagant fan system to pull the cool water off the lake.
Get it into the middle of the boat.
And then another fan to help pull warm air out. Don't ask me how it works. It just does. We've been here about 4 hours & it's already dropped to 87 cool degrees!
We are contemplating going to Brian & Lora's boat to sleep 'cuz their a/c works. Don't judge us people - they said we could...
So what do you do when there's no one here but us? And it's too hot to sit in the boat & watch tv? Blind string tricks!
You try to loop the blind string around that round thingie on the grill.
Or try to spin the blind string very quickly.
Perhaps practice the art of getting the blind string to wrap around itself?!
I have no clue what's going on here?!
All the blind string tricks were conquered, so Brad decided to take a ride on the jet ski. And I decided to stay in the 87 cool degree boat & blog. You know, REALLY important stuff...

A river runs through it

We had a nice little storm come through a bit ago. And because of all the rain this year, the driveway has a nice, but smaller version, of the Grand Canyon etched into it.
And while my new snazzy camera is waterproof, I am not. So I had to take these pics through the glass on the door.
Farm lesson #24 - this is what we in the biz like to call "a waterway". You sow grass down through an area where water has a tendency to flow quickly so the grass slows it down. It also doesn't create the mini Grand Canyons in the field that it created in my driveway. When the storm was over, the sun came out & ended up creating a double rainbow. It's very light, but it's right above the darker rainbow.

Camping w/ the Bye's - Part II

We had made plans to camp w/ Matt & Carrie over the weekend. Saturday was also her jewelry party for me :) So while we jewelry party-in' it up - the guys went to camp to get everything set up for us. Brad monopolized the hammack. When we got there, Matt had the grill fired up & burgers goin'!
Then Brad wanted me to monopolize the hammack with him. Even though it was hella hot outside, the guys built a fire. You can't camp without a fire...duh...Me & my BFF. Their camp is deep in the woods. In Crawford County. On Little Blue River. So when we hear noises, we get kinda fuh-reaked. But since we're God fearin', gun totin' Americans, we have no reason to worry. Haven't I mention humidity hates me?
We sat by the fire & talked & drank & had a good time, like always. And Brad got a phone call. From someone outside the circle of trust. And it was on like Donkey Kong. Carrie tried her hardest to get him off the phone. She sat on his lap.
She poked at him. Ah, success! Nothin' like having a crazy (drunk) chick in your face talking to (screaming at) you to get off the phone. (And in the spirit of full disclosure - I was in the background yelling at him to get off the phone too...) Sunday morning we got up & decided to drive over the metropolis of Alton to see who was hangin' over there. We have to drive over this old, one lane bridge to get there.
and old, one lane bridges make me nervous.
Carrie & I played (sucked at) cornhole.
And Brad decided to monopolize the hammack again. But this time it earned him a smack on the boo-tay.Thanks again for letting us stay! We always have a good time. Even though Matt does an EXCELLENT job at irritating me, aggravating me & basically just pissing me off! He knows how to push my buttons every.single.time! :)
