My photo stream has successfully streamed all the pics from the Jason Aldean concert we went to on Jul 21st (!). This time Shauna & I let the boys come along (B-rad LOVES Jason Aldean & the party isn't complete w/ out Brian so he came with us as well.)
This show was up at Klipsch near Indy again & I must tell you - these boys crack us up. (DON'T tell them I said that...) We complain about them & gripe at them - but we laugh our ASSES off when they're together. They both have apps that drive us bonkers & they use them together to really turn the irritation factor up to 10. One sounds like the light saber sword thingies from Star Wars, there's one that sounds like a whip noise & one that makes fart noises. They L-O-V-E to irritate us w/ all of these apps but the farting one this day was the one that got top prize. You MUST watch this video & I DARE you not to laugh...
(just to set it up: Brian is controlling the app & Shauna had the genius idea to play it via bluetooth through the car speakers...)
(FYI-when Brian asks 'what did he say?' & we all chime in 'WHAT THE HELL?' - we drove past a policeman directing traffic & when he heard all the farting from the car he looked at us & said, 'what the HELL?')
HILARIOUSNESS, people.
It was HELLA hot this night & this is evidenced in these pics I took of B-rad & myself.
8:19PM
Merely 12 minutes later at 8:31PM.
I thought I was gonna melt!
I'm sure I've told ya'll a million times about how much B-rad LOVES Jason Aldean. Like he loves the songs he sings about farming & the country because it's like he's singing about B-rad's life.
On this night I had a bit of a melt down moment when he sang 'Amarillo Sky'. This song - to me - more than any other describes B-rad's life, how hard he works & how high the stakes really are with what he does on the farm.
I will blame it on the heat so I don't seem like a total basket case- but I stood there bawling like a little girl while he sang:
He gets up before the dawn
Packs a lunch and a thermos full of coffee
It's another day in the dusty haze
Burnin' rays are wearing down his body
And diesel's worth the price of gold
It's the cheapest grain he's ever sold
But he's still holding on
He just takes the tractor another round
And pulls the plow across the ground
And sends up another prayer
He says, "Lord, I never complain, I never ask why
But please don't let my dream to run dry
Underneath, underneath this
Amarillo sky"
That hailstorm back in '83
Sure did take a toll on his family
But he stayed strong and carried on
Just like his dad and granddad did before him
On his knees, every night he prays
"Please let my crops and children grow"
'Cause that's all he's ever known
He just takes the tractor another round
And pulls the plow across the ground
And sends up another prayer
He says, "Lord, I never complain, I never ask why
But please don't let my dream run dry
Underneath, underneath this
Amarillo sky"
And he takes the tractor another round
Another round, another round
And he takes the tractor another round
Another round
He says, "I never complain, I never ask why
But please don't let my dreams run dry
Underneath, underneath this
Amarillo sky"
Underneath this
Amarillo sky
Music is powerful stuff, people. If you're so inclined you should totally go on your super fancy iPhones & search for this song in the iTunes store & take a listen.
It should make you cry like little girls too!
Another great night w/ some of my favorite people...
